Awesome reaction mate! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Tip: We call our game “League” Rugby is a different game… So our game of rugby league is just shortened to league most of the time😎👍🏻 Yes it is very much like your NFL football in such that we have stops and the defence lines sets or resets before the next ruck is played Also, in league we have “Limited plays/Tackles” before having to hand the ball back to the opposite side Keep up the great work mate! I believe there is a team in American Football that has studied Rugby tackles and have incorporated them into the game as they are safer and have stopped doing head tackles and such like. I forget the name of the team but I believe there is a video somewhere here on KZbin. I think they won the NFL or something the year after they started adopting Rugby tackles and other teams have copied suit since.

You should definitely watch a video or two on Johnathan Thurston (voted by fans as best of the NRL era - with a whole sleuth of awards to back it up). He was called too small to play football from his early years, he played in the winning Grand Final of 2004 year but gave his premiership ring away to his mate & club captain Steve Price who was injured and couldn't play in the Grand Final. He always picks up the kicking tee to hand to the kids after each kick (1st person to do that- thou not many do) and always gives his headgear away to kids in the crowd (even if they support the opposition). He was so tough, lived the "never say die" attitude and never gives up .... here are at least two video's ... you can react to either if you want: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aKqtcnque7uNetU or kzbin.info/www/bejne/a6esdGilgqeNsMk

When they talked about the knee and you mentioned the knee going down. It is not like in NFL "taking the knee" (a knee?) but it's whether his knee touched outside the side line before the ball touched the ground in the goal area. If the knee touched first then the play ends there before the ball was grounded so net result is no try. Plus I don't know if this was confusing for you or others not used to NRL but a try is worth 4 points. When the commentators kept mentioning 2 points that means they won the game from that try and scored 2 points for winning. Win a game =2 points. Tie a game =1 point. Loose a game = 0 points.

@cosmicfrog58162 жыл бұрын
its a play
@hailskatean2 жыл бұрын
@@cosmicfrog5816 I thought a play would be each individual play the ball? Anyway... NFL you get 4 downs to advance 10 meters then repeat, you can either kick on the 4th or risk trying to make the yards but if unsuccessful you have to handover the ball where it was played from. NRL you have a set of 6 tackles to make it to the try line, on the 6th you can kick if you are not close enough to the tryline or try running on the 6th with the same result once tackled being to hand over the ball where you where tackled. Theres some similarities that can help you understand each game depending on your familiarity with each.

The biggest difference between NFL and rugby league/union is that most of the players play for the full 80 minutes. They have a 20 minutes break at half time but otherwise play the whole game. They don't swap between offence and defence because they all play both roles. The second biggest difference between rugby league/union and NFL is our blokes are not padded up They wear some but very little whereas your blokes are covered with bubble wrap.

Couple of quick lingo things "rugby" generally refers to rugby union, NRL is rugby league, so your title is a bit confusing, though not your fault. I'm an Australian and we typically refer to the sport as "football" "footy" "league" or "rugby league", but to just say "rugby" means union not league (their game was invented first). A "juke" we call a "sidestep" or more commonly just "a step/stepped" A "stiffarm" is called a "fend" The "fake passes" we call "a dummy/dummies" Couple other little things you may not have noticed/known, touching any sidelines with any part of your body before scoring "a try" is classed as out, which is why you see the players jump and twist their bodies to score in the corners, the corner post is there just as a marker, but touching the post is not classed as out, only the line. The ball must be passed backwards. Forward passes lose possession. If the ball is dropped, it must be dropped backwards otherwise it's classed as a "knockon" and you lose possession. If a ball is dropped backwards play continues. You can generally tell a players position by the number on their back, 1-5 are classed as backs (1 fullback, 2 wingers, 2 centres), they're generally the fastest most agile players, 6 and 7 (five-eighth and halfback) are playmakers, 9 (the hooker) plays a role similar to the nfl centre that snaps the ball and 8-13 are forwards and are the bigger heavier players (2 Props/Frontrowers, 2 2nd rowers and 1 lock). Numbers 14-17 or higher are subs or reserves, generally these are replacement forwards but sometimes teams have an extra hooker or back instead of just 4 forwards. So when you see a player with a high number score a long range try, even though it may not seem impressive at first glance, what makes it impressive is these are the guys that make the most tackles, take the most hits, do alot of the hard work and generally are slower players, so it doesn't happen often. Most forwards score from close range. If you want a more comprehensive breakdown of the general rules, happy to help. (FYI November 18 8pm AEDT State of Origin (biggest game of the year) is on, if you're interested you should find a way to watch.

How is a NFL a touchdown as they don’t actually touch the ball down. To get the ball down in the NRL is an incredible skill. Once watch a few games you will see plenty of tries stopped by holding the ball up over the try line. The term (Rugby) is synonymous to rugby union they also use the term (Union) The NRL is rugby league and the term (League) is used. It’s how we identify the two different codes in Australia. League supporters hate it when mainly Americans say Rugby because you’re talking about rugby union. It’s a different game. NRL in my opinion is the superior game. Great to see your seeing what league fans in Oz already know. It’s a super fast, super tough and super exciting. It’s 80 minutes it’s non stop footy. So fatigue sets in big time. Hope that clears things up for you. Seeyalatermate.

Nothing like NFL Rugby you play for 90min, not stop ever 2min you can only tackle the man with the ball,not any body else.No time outs to talk stratege. You cannot pass the ball forward, A touch down is a touch down not a run over the line and it's called a try.Rugby is for men not sissies who have to have padding and helmets.Why Americans persist in saying it's like NFL I will never understand the only thing similar is the ball and the goal posts.

If they got rid of the pads, helmets, quarterbacks, big fat slow linemen, the endless interchange, offense and defense, had teams of only 13 made of just running backs and linebackers, cut out all the stoppages, the tickertape bells whistles and added bollocks, allowed the game to flow, then it might ... MIGHT... start to look similar... as it is, the only thing they have in common right now is the bunker.
