The census statistics say the household income is like 71,000 so the median income is like 35,000. So idk where people get these 50k+ average incomes from

Well a bunch of people making very high 6 figure incomes can raise that median income really high but a big difference 1 person making 35 and 1 person making 100k really cranks up that median

Companies pay on cost of labor, not cost of living. Thats why a job in SF costs more than Huntsville. Good video though. Appreciate you putting it together

I make 100k gross(before taxes). I just have a HS diploma. I am in my mid 40's. I have had many jobs in my lifetime. I can honestly say now I know why companies pay their employees so little.

So these are individual incomes, not household incomes? They seem high for median individual incomes. Edit: I forgot you mentioned location, someone in CA needs more to live the same lifestyle as someone in the south or Midwest.

That really depends on a lot of factors, like how many dependents you have, your deductible expenses, charity giving, etc. I’d say 20% including federal and state, but again that’s a very rough estimate.

College graduates salary depends highly on your major. Those of us who major in healthcare, engineering, computer programming, etc makes six figures easily. These same majors are difficult to get in and competitive to stay.

26 uneducated male in construction making 40/hr. 80/hr on overtime. 10.10hr Employer annuity contribution. 10.86/hr into a pension. 16.50/hr in health benefits. Im a degree-less construction bumm making damn good coin. People kimda just say oh when i say i work construction but when i tell them ill be making 65/hr in 2 years as a licensed journeyman they are blown away. That the minimum they must pay often the good guys are overscaled to keep them from jumping to a different company and the pension follows you throughout the industry. 130/hr for working on a Saturday is just fine with me.

I reside in the DMV metro area (DC/MD/VA) in the 7th wealthiest county in the U.S. My annual gross salary is a little over $170K and due to the cost of living here, trust me when I say it is NOT enough! 😅

Making $170k down here in Florida, you will would be able to live extremely comfortably, like a king/queen, but not so much not in some parts of Miami and Orlando though.

I call bs that the AVERAGE 20-24 yr old averages at $20/hr... Maybe if the stats conflate having 2-3 jobs in addition to the higher earning college grads boosting the numbers.

If you put in the work, your paycheck will show for it. I'm recently 25 with a high school diploma making 65K a year. 6% 401k match. Good Vision, dental, and medical insurance. 4 weeks of vacation every year. No car payment or student debt. No credit card debt. Just avoid putting yourself into situations you can't handle.

Average means nothing and that median is heavily inaccurate. Median salary is in the lower to mid 40s. Most Americans have debt and roughly 50% live paycheck to paycheck.
