Bought the SJE 101 black MM last week. No regrets at all what a beautiful watch. Also for anyone wondering regarding the bracelet resizing, the collars go in the middle section and can only be inserted one direction. So this is a huge update to the pin and collar system and is a zero error method. I really wished Seiko had a section in their manuals how to resize.

It's been over a month now that I've had the SJE101 and I'm still head over heels for it, there's so much going on, the exposed teeth of the bezel, the high polish markers, the machining on the dial, the high polish beveling on the case. This is the watch that you really need to see in person to understand the price point. I love it so much. It made be love the 62MAS platform, I tried so hard to like it with the SPB143 but I eventually sold that because I couldn't connect with it, but the SJE101 saved it for me. Incredible.

Absolutely, I miss my SJE101 sometimes but with my SLA079 MM300 in the rotation too, it made more sense to swap out to the blue SJE119.

So awesome that you are changing the video format. Not being able to shop for the watch you're reviewing at the same time was saving me way too much money!

Yeah, you've been extremely vocal about it, so I'm glad you're excited, cheers!

@@AverageBros squeaky wheel gets the grease. I don't know if mentioning it twice counts as extremely vocal, but good to know the bar is low to get a message across if there's an issue.

If Seiko makes the SPB317 into an SLA or SJE model I'm going to seriously have to move some things around and pick one of those up awesome review Happy New Year

Ive owned the Seiko SJE101 for 6 weeks now, I absolutely love this MARINEMASTER :) ha ha, I actually don't give a $heet if its called MARINEMASTER or if it wasn't. Seiko could have called it whatever they like. In saying that, its absolutely perfect in every way, Case, Bracelet, Movement etc. I love the way it wears, I sized it and it sits perfect on my wrist. My favourite watch after collecting watches for more than 50 years, I buy what I like for me and not to impress others. Watches don't have to cost more or less to be perfect Loving my real, fake, whatever MARINEMASTER :) Thanks for the Video, I like your reviews :) Happy New Year :)

@@esisolina Hey, it's a Marinemaster according to Seiko and that's about as legit as it gets!

I really don't understand how people can be fan of a brand, let alone be a fanboy. I don't have any emotional connection to brands. I just like certain objects, like specific hifi components, cars or watches.
@AverageBros2 күн бұрын
Yeah, it's definitely more a function for enthusiast and collectors where you're connecting higher than at a functional product level. Brand doesn't really come to mind when seeking out products that I'm not passionate about at some level.

I believe this is often a design language thing. I know that I tend to like Seiko watches. Their designs seem “good” to me. I like some German watch brands as well, but not as strongly as Seiko. With cars, I used to feel strongly about Chevy, but with the idiotic Federal fuel economy rules, there really will not be American cars any more, only trucks and SUV’s which do not count in the Federal rules. See, Americans went from driving a 24 miles per gallon car to a 10 miles per gallon SUV!!! According to the government, this reduces global warming. I will not mention the morons driving Teslas here with our coal-fired power plants, but blue state environmental policies are a good time. I get what you are saying, but you are too serious. One needs to behave in a silly, child-like way to have warm feelings towards an evil corporation. For example, I adore the StarCraft and Diablo franchises, so I had warm, fuzzy feelings towards Blizzard, which ended with the dumpster fire called Diablo 4 (I blame Microsoft!). Brand loyalty is ridiculous, and probably fake, but we play along out of desire for fun. Sony is a great example of where brand loyalty goes when products go South.
