Nice video! Thank you for this comprehensive walk-through, this here has more details than i've seen compared to other youtube videos about this capture card. keep up the good work sir! Now i have a new external capture card on my mind, thanks to you. lol. This card indeed is fire all round specs, but sadly no onboard encoding! If only. But nonetheless this here is a very angry capture card. Avermedia went all this way this time!

Yup. Onboard encoder is missing! Sadly. But if it had that, of course the price is definitely going to go up more. What I think avermedia could have done is release two models instead & price them differently. One with Onboard encoder & one without (same way we have Ps5 disc version & Ps5 digital version). And then that leaves the user a better choice. At this rate I'm sure Elgato might have to do this to edge out the competition. Let's just wait and see. For now, in my opinion, this wins as the best external capture card in the market as of right now!. 😆

@@okygu this capture card supports Mac according to the website information, however I'm not sure if support for 1440@120 is availble. I've not been able to personally test this on a Mac so I can't really say for sure.

@@andres2952 in this case I think it's just best you connect the camera directly to your pc, if this camera supports pc connection mode that is. Once you connect it to your pc, add it as a Webcam source in obs and you should be fine.

It will. Pls Create a new audio output source in obs then go inside the source properties & select avermedia as the sound source. Perhaps I' might have to pin a Discord link to this video's description later today so it can actually serve as a place for troubleshooting discussions and I can share detailed screenshots there.

I just recently brought this capture card but I’m having issues with the audio. It gets picked up on the stream. But I cant hear anything thru my own headset. Would you know what the issue might be?

I think i might. But #1. What's your capture card to broadcaster setup like? & #2. 1st easy solution is to plug a 3.5mm cable to the capture card & connect to your headset that way you can get audio.

Is the game/signal source coming from a console? I'm asking just to understand the setup. Becuase if you did a console (Ps5 for example) to capture card to pc/obs setup.. You won't get audio on your headset right away until you do some manual bypasses on the pc.

Hi guys, I have a really big problem with this capture card! The interface of the Avermediagaming utility tells me every time that I need to update the firmware version, but after I download it, it just disappears and the only time I can start the program again is when I completely restart my computer and on top of that, it doesn't detect any recording program obs etc. that my capture card is plugged in...If someone has the same problem or could help me, that would be really cool! Thanks in advance! 🤜🤛

Hi there. I never had this problem but we can try a few things. 1): when the gaming utility is launched, Check for software version update first, then check for hardware/firmware version update next @09:50 2).. Go to avermedia website & under the LGU2.1 product page download the firmware for the card and perform manual installation. Do keep the capture card plugged in with the type c cable that came with it before starting the installation. You don't need to have the gaming utility up at this time cos the firmware update will close it off anyways. Once the update succeeds, then I think you'll be fine. After rebooting, launch the gaming utility application to verify the firmware update. As for the obs part..you will need to setup the capture card from within obs itself as I showed in this video.

Hey, I'm having a similar issue, my capture card can be detected but the second I either try to install the firmware update or open other programs (specifically Discord, Skype and KZbin on Google Chrome or Microsoft edge, KZbin on Firefox has no affect it seems) the software can no longer detect the video signal, audio signal is fine and Device Manager still detects it all, I have to do a full restart of my system to get it detecting again. I've been in contact with Technical Support for over a week, they're looking into it, they thought it might of been my BIOS being out of date at the time but that has since been proven not the cause of the issue, I'd definitely recommend getting into contact with Technical Support, give them as much information as you can, I'd also recommend trying the same programmes I listed above to see if those also cause your issue like they do mine. It seems there are more people with this issue, or similar issue (I legit thought I was the only one until I saw your comment lol) so hopefully the more people contact Technical Support and give them as much info as needed, the more data the engineers will have to try and figure out the root cause of the issues.

@@Wolfen616YT hi...can you try running the avermedia diagnostic tool and let's see what it says? Though last time I checked, lgu2.1 wasn't in the list but maybe it has been added now. The tool can usually say if everything is 100% passed. I havent experienced this issue yet so I really can't quite figure what could be the root cause. I really hope avermedia support fixes this issue soonest. And I think you could also send them logs too. Let's see how it goes.

@@opskiegaming Hi, unfortunately it seems the diagnostic tool still doesn't support the GC553G2 yet. I've sent Technical Support my DxDiag and other information, I even had a TeamViewer session with them, as far as I'm aware the issue has been sent over to the engineering team to look at. It honestly just seems like a very specific issue and it might take some time for them to fix, but I live in hope, I'm going to email them again in a couple of days to see if there is any progress updates. I even attempted to use the GamingUtility's fault recording, but that means I have to restart the software and the issue immediately arises so I can't even record that to send them. Thanks for your help anyways, hopefully a solution will be found soon.

@@Wolfen616YT this is tough. Cos Its hard to say if its an OS issue or chipset thing or drivers etc. If there's any chance could you try running it on another system? This is often the next thing I try to give a shot when I'm having an issue like this. I just wish avermedia will add this card to the diagnostic tool already. And I really hope they figure this out really soon cos there's nothing more annoying than having a new device like this & it's just sitting there & I can't get it to work!
