Hughes aircraft company created the laser in 1960. By the 80s they had created lazer welding..... After all the outside engineering firms who built welding equipment said it couldn't be done, Hughes engineers specifically those who worked in the radar systems group manufacturing area designed and built a welding machine that would work in a zero oxygen atmosphere for a program they were woring on. They needed several of these for production reasons.... They then called the same company whose engineers said it couldn't be done to come into the secured area to see what they had built. They told them they needed three machines just like it...... Personally I'm not buying another piece of welding equipment until I can afford a laser unit.

Heat= penetration. heat is the ONLY thing bonding metal to metal when welding. That why those chinise lazer welders do not work. In this video you clearly see that the material got hot from the BACK also as it is WELDED. those chinise machines never put pout enough heat to properly melt the metal and they do not have heat marks on the back or around the bead.
