@Sharky Shepo awesome video! I live in the UK and 3 hours drive from the shore. No sharks here anyway. Have been over to Florida a few times and caught a few whaler like sharks around the 10ft mark. How much line do you use for the big tiger sharks and how much do you think you need? I've seen a guy spooling reels with nearly 4000 yards of 130lb line (including trx Avets) and I think that's pointless. But I'm no expert. I've always wanted to fish Australia for sharks one day. I'm a mad keen fisherman. Got the fishing bug bad when living in Thailand for a while. 100lb+ freshwater fish a cast in the fishing parks. Fun but shooting fish in a barrel. Even bought a Makaira 80W in 2013 as I just loved the Florida Shark fishing so much! Where you fish looks incredible. Amazing catches and what looks like a very quiet location. Florida beaches aren't often quiet.

I just bought an Avet 80w myself, do you think you could go over the rods that you use for land based shark fishing? I'm looking to build a rod myself for landbased shark fishing in Florida and am trying to find the best ideas for what works best

7-8ft 100-130lb is the go, i like no rollers because so much sand gets in them

80-130 E-Glass. I’m in Florida too, where are you at? He’s right about the sand in the rollers but I still use them on the 80’s. 50’s I’ll use first and last roller and 30’s all SIN or SIC guides. Tight lines!

Sick bro, getting myself an Avet 80w. How much topshot mono did you have, cos that was spooled pretty high with braid I though. Don't people usually run 2/3rds braid backing then 1/3rd mono topshot? & Where did you get your Avet in Aussie bro? I'm over the ditch in kiwi land, and don't have a good Avet supply. Also did you consider the Accurate Platinum Twindrag 80w?

Yer I only got 80 meters of toppy, I'd rather 150m of toppy Busted tackle au does avets but hard to get at the moment Have a look at the okuma makaira 50w and 80w great reels I just got a new makaira 50w has 40kg of drag super nice reel

@@sharkyshepo8167 Yeah bro, looking at the Makaira 50 open top in Anniversary blue camo for my boat shark fishing, but need another 80w for off the beach bro. I see Avets are meant to the bee's knees for shark fishing, they even make a 3 speed in the 30w & 50W framed & topless. Not sure why you'd need 3 gears, but sick bragging rights. My other choice maybe an Accurate Platinum Twindrag, which I think are probably the very best game reels, but cost the Earth. Their lever drag system is mean. Has letters so you can just say put it to "H" for whatever drag setting you want, & just remember H is 20lbs of drag etc. If I get an Avet, I will get the T-RX Quad drag, that puts out the most drag of any reel ever built. I'm 130kg, so sitting in my Black Magic Equaliser, I could just lean back & put on major hurt on a Bronzie/Hammer/Mako or not trying too, but often get Juvenile Great Whites (Legally have to have to land it, tag it & tell authorities all it's specs). I also see Aver do the EWX 80/2 in open top frame. That be sick in blue, green or even purple. Jealous AF what yanks can get over there. You a better range than us in NZ though bro. What do you think of the purple colour? I can't decide whether it's sick or a bit too flashy/gay. Cheers for your help mate.

I really wanna get the EXW80/2 for land based shark fishing. But I wonder if the TR- X would be a better choice. Being the TR-X has 2x the amount of drag than the EXW80/2. Any thoughts?
