This game seems to have the Metal Slug "syndrome." By that I mean that the bosses are actually easier when you don't die in the stage because you'll have the tank (or in the AVGN game's case, the weapon upgrade) to beat the boss to a bloody pulp.

They for some reason, got rid of the cameo references and replaced them with the Future Nerd, who is actually the Nerd, but with all power-ups equipped. And the Happy Fun Candy Time boss with the unicorn was replaced with the Bloodstained Bears.
