Not a fan of the fan design elements, but it looks very cool in general. Really dig the open date wheel. Can't tell how many times I given up seeing the date on my watches and just gone for the phone, since the date sits deep below the dial in shadow.

Not to be pedantic but...the Rolls Royce Avon was their first axial flow engine, following numerous centrifugal (radial flow) designs. All were turbojets, not turfans. The first turbofans debuted in the '60s. The blades represent the front face of the compressor. I'm not a fan of AV-8 watches....they seem contrived.

No, you can be pedantic all you want. That's actually my bad. I'm vernacularly inverted. They describe it as the "turbojet" at the website, not "turbofan".....my bad. Thanks for the clarification 😎👍👍

I have a soft spot for these watches as a long time WWII air war nerd. I have managed to pass that on to my 13 year old son who's favorite plan is the Hurricane. While I think you have an easily defended opinion of this brand and their style, to a 13 year old young man into vintage combat air planes they are the absolute pinnacle of cool. I find them more "themed" than "designed", but such subtleties are an individual matter. This brand as a Christmas present is a definite possibility and I know he would not be any happier with a Rolex.
