This version is so moving. The minute he opens his mouth and you feel the resonance stemming from THAT voice intermingling with those acoustics..... He has mentioned that "Heaven, Hell, wherever I go..." does not refer to the literal eternal destination, but whatever he goes through here on earth, he has faith that it will be okay. Coming through the darkness in his mind gave him the strength to believe. It is still very interesting to hear those words in a church, though. Every time you talk about writing I wish your books were translated into English!

7 Layers filmed this video in a church in Utrecht, Netherlands during his 2022 European tour. Avi and his band were to perform there in Utrecht that night, and had just arrived in the city in their tour bus. They pulled up on front of the church and Avi got out, guitar in hand, and walked into the church, where he met with the 7 Layers crew briefly, and then just went for it. No info if it was just a one-take or not, but whichever it was, the end result was the epitome of Avi's resonance, control, and depth of feeling. He's an artist unafraid to be intimate, genuine and vulnerable - something we don't see and hear very often.

This songs just hits differently in this version. The reverb in the church, just Avi and his guitar, is more powerful than an entire band or group. I love this song so much, and it is one that has helped me (still does) through rough days.

Both Art Garfunkel and Paul Simon are still going. They parted a long time ago. Then got back together briefly and then went their own ways again. They are both about 82 y.o.
