Knowing your age. This is why maths is so important. 😂 In all seriousness though thanks for the info. I recently took a timed sample aptitude test and failed so miserably, I stopped entertaining the idea I could do it for a while. But I realise I did zero preparation and I’m sure 99% of people would also fail. I’m especially terrible at maths and haven’t touched the subject for over 15 years since I left school, so I feel like I need to retake my GCSE’s. Where would you start if you were in my position, knowing what you know now?
@ellatheaviator59814 жыл бұрын
I can't stress enough how much you need to brush up on your maths skills, especially when it comes to ground-school :D. Honestly, when I first started practicing these tests I failed time and time again, but the more you practice the better you get, keep going and you will get there! As maths was never my strong suit I started looking at BBC GCSE bitesize, it breaks down maths really easily so it isn't too overwhelming. So I would do some lessons on there and then try some maths tests on the software I linked above and that seemed to do the trick. I hope this helps and best of luck!!

Honestly, if you’re practicing now, you will be more than capable when you actually go and do it! Amazing commitment though, so inspiring that you’re already working towards becoming a pilot! Keep going! 😊

You sound very hopeful and good. I’m glad you did all in such a great way you hoped. JUST wanna tell your a dream that you may think strange but TRUST me, I’m so optimistic and hopeful to go. I did a degree in Social work in late 2017 and I did because my math was always a bad one and I went to an art degree just because of my math background But enthusiastically, I would almost certainly leave my classroom once I heard a plane noise flying in the mid-sky always watched until it disappeared and I still do even when I’m busy or on a rush because that’s the sound I always wanted to hear and I almost felt like I was in the cockpit and doing myself. I wish I’d do it 😊 and REMEMBER I was born in the middle of nowhere where even seeing a car was a distance dream. NOW with all the hurdles ahead, I want to get that wonderful dream back on tract and I am happy to tell you that I am doing some math and physics courses and aptitude practices as well. The good news for me is that I’m fluent in English and I guess that means a lot in aviation industry as well. I almost googled all the aviation related articles and videos on the KZbin including your amazing video Now. So I have a question for you if you can help answer and help out, I’m really confused of math because I started like learning integers 😂 definitely I’m going back to school, my question is what type of math level should mostly importantly focus on and study hard because I just wanna save a time while doing my math courses. Physics is relatively better than my math madness. So pls share me your journey apart from this video and pls always kindly email me at this email or at least I need yours I’m wrong I guess at axmedabdi99@gmail.com

Do I need physics a level to apply for flight schools?
@ellatheaviator59814 жыл бұрын
Hey, not that I am aware of. I certainly didn't study Pyshics for A-Level. It will definitely put you at an advantage as some of the subjects in Groundschool are quite maths/physics orientated, but I believe most academies only require GCSE level in the core subjects, but be sure to check the requirements of the academy you are looking at joining.

Can you take a calculator to the aptitude test for the maths section?
@ellatheaviator59814 жыл бұрын
Lilly Ayoubi it depends what the rules are for the academy you are sitting them with. I was allowed to bring one to mine, but a few weeks later they changed it to a non-calculator paper. I would recommend emailing the academy ahead of time and asking if you need one, and maybe just bring one along anyway just Incase. You can always leave it in the waiting room if you aren’t allowed it. I hope this helps! 😊
