Good grief man thanks. I understand declared distances and tons of this stuff but the term balanced field finally fell into place too when you drew that graphic at minute 3.

Great video! If the balanced field V1 gives a shorter runway required than the actual runway, I asume the airlines can increase the paying load of the airplane, so the weight will be higher and the curves will move up in the graphic. The question is, the new balanced field V1 will be similar, faster or slower? Thanks!
@flightlevelview21152 жыл бұрын
Thanks for commenting man. I thinking what you’re talking about is optimum V1. you’re in a way “unbalancing” the field length so you can use all of the useable runway to its full potential to increase payload.

you know what, you are better than those who have thousands of subscribers about going in details and having knowledge about the subject and I have a question sir, why do we need balanced fields ? whats that balancing about? why is it 'better' to have balanced v1 speed
@flightlevelview21153 жыл бұрын
Hello Mr. Demir. Thank you for commenting. 1 Why do we need balanced fields? A. Balanced field is just a concept for jets. Regardless if we need it or not the phenomenon exists. Kinda like if you throw a ball into the air, at some point the ball won't go up and won't come down but will be in zero G. 2 What's balanced field all about? A. its where the "OH SHIT we gotta GO" distance vs "OH SHIT we gotta STOP" distance are the same. 3. Why is it better to have balanced field V1 speed? A. Balanced field length (balanced V1) allows for the best performance compared to your "unbalanced" field (V1) speeds. *assuming that your TORA & ASDA are the same /// meaning you aren't using STOPWAYS OR CLEARWAYS in your calculations. I suppose if you use STOPWAYS (extra pavement beyond the end of the runway thats use for emergencies.) You could get better performance if you use unbalanced V speeds. Also another benefit is that since the distances are the same. You only require one set of performance charts in your manuals.

@@flightlevelview2115 another benefit it seems to me is , you can choose to Reject at the last possible second. you dont have to commit taking into air an aircraft that has engine fire . if you have a low V1 like 110 kts and u get engine fire at 120 kts you now have to fly the aircraft and waste 8 minutes in a circuit. compared to engine fire at 120kts , v1 at 130kts. just stop and the ground fire services will be on their way.

before watching your videos i disliked High V1 . rolling down the runway close to your max tire speeds. but now i realised that high V1 are actually in the pilots favor in case of engine fire.

Why scree height reduce to 15ft on wet runway? i hope you will make a complete playlist for ATPL performance I’m struggling a lot
@flightlevelview21152 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching my videos. The “screen height” is 35 ft dry for Class A airplanes. A320 B737 B777 A380 The screen height is 15 ft wet for Class A airplanes It is written in the regulations. I forget exactly where it is written. Ill try and look it up for you. But as for the reason why it is 15 ft and not 17 ft or 14 ft or 9.5 ft. i am not sure why.
