I remember watching the live stream in the middle of the night back then. When the music stopped after "Levels", I instantly knew something big was gonna happen. I had a feeling he might have brought some singers on the stage, maybe even a band... Then Aloe's voice started singing "Wake Me Up", and the rest is history. Even though I wasn't 100% satisfied with this new sound back then, in retrospect I gotta admit that he changed the entire music industry with this one little concert. He showed everybody, including me, that EDM doesn't have to be generic 4 to the floor FL or Ableton Loops, but can be so much more with the help of just some ordinary instruments and amazing singing talents. Thank you sooo much for this unforgettable moment TIM, god bless you!

Truly a trailblazer. To think that the crowd booed this song
@ravenbeast8133 жыл бұрын
I want to remind everyone that Avicii was booed pretty hard during this set. It was new and “frightening”. The lesson here: don’t be afraid to try something new, be a revolutionary when it seems impossible.

It’s sad because despite the huge stage and celebrity, Tim was a brilliant, insecure, reclusive mind who used his powerful inspiration to create. But being booed on a stage this big added pain to his sensitive soul. Rest In Peace, Tim. Gone but never forgotten ❤️

I always wanted to be one of those concert, specially when this music video is making on, part of it. When the original came, and it still one of my precious memories. I had my best friend and I was in love with the girl. My best friend commit suicide in 2015, and always remind of this moment when Avicii released this Wake me up. RIP Avicii and my beloved best friend.

Feeling my way through the darkness Guided by a beating heart I can't tell where the journey will end But I know where to start They tell me I'm too young to understand They say I'm caught up in a dream Well life will pass me by if I don't open up my eyes Well that's fine by me So wake me up when it's all over When I'm wiser and I'm older All this time I was finding myself, and I Didn't know I was lost So wake me up when it's all over When I'm wiser and I'm older All this time I was finding myself, and I Didn't know I was lost I tried carrying the weight of the world But I only have two hands Hope I get the chance to travel the world But I don't have any plans Wish that I could stay forever this young Not afraid to close my eyes Life's a game made for everyone And love is a prize So wake me up when it's all over When I'm wiser and I'm older All this time I was finding myself, and I Didn't know I was lost So wake me up when it's all over When I'm wiser and I'm older All this time I was finding myself, and I I didn't know I was lost I didn't know I was lost I didn't know I was lost I didn't know I was lost I didn't know

I think that pop scene would be totally different without this song and this performance. This was clearly history defining moment that pathed way for Taylor Swift becoming biggest pop star in the world, also helped a lot to rise of more alternative and genre crossign artists like Billie Eilish.
