AVODA Origin One Length Irons Review

I got the Avoda combo length. 8 through LW are a 9 iron length. Then the 7 through 5 get progressively longer. It’s a nice blend. Played with once. They feel amazing. The spin off the wedges is very high.

The cobra one length irons definitely made a big difference improvement in my game.

Thanks so much for the review, I'm going to get the Avoda very soon. Btw, the Avoda 5i is 22º and the Srixon is 25º of loft. The Avoda 9i is 40º and Srixon 41º. Also, LA GOLF and Kinetixx make shafts specifically done for single length irons which help the lower lofted irons get up in the air and viceversa with the higher lofted ones.

Aha good point on the lofts ...I measured the and they are 2 degrees apart, measured 25 and 23 in the 5 irons and you are spot on with the 9 irons ...I was going for more of a concept comparison but that does factor in I did think whether it would make sense to have the MID Axiom shafts through the set ...Shortening the long iron shafts down would make them play stiffer and lengthening the SHORT Axiom shafts would make them play softer ...Wonder if they've tested that - Bit of a costly one for me to compare hehe

Interesting. The Avoda website does not show any difference in the 4, 5, and 6 irons. All are shown as cavity back same as 7, 8, 9, and PW. Love that they offer Axoim and LA Golf as shaft options. Love your channel!

They look like their driving iron which i think only comes in one loft. Maybe when you custom order you csn request those builds in those irons.

The clubs in the video, no ...shafts are quite harsh for a high handicapper Generally, I think they'd be good wedges up to a 6 iron as the lower lofted clubs are harder to get airborne Benefits in maintaining of posture and some extra speed with the more lofted clubs!

As a high speed player (100 mph 7 iron swing speed), do you think I could game some 105X irons shafts in the Avoda single-length? I'm currently playing some 130g X100s but generally like a lighter overall club weight. Looking REALLY hard at purchasing a set next week.

@ Unfortunately not! I do not live anywhere near a place I could try out the Avodas. But I’ve gotten feedback now from multiple people that the 105X should be totally fine that I think I’ll do it. Thanks so much man! I’ll let Avoda know you sent me 👍

Do you get added club head speed on the wedges with them having a longer shaft than standard? Is that what attributes to the higher ball flight? I would have thought there would have been a larger difference in wedge spin rates 🤔

Yes you do indeed, more head speed and a higher dynamic loft - As you increase loft, there's a saturation point where the friction reduces, so it could be the extra speed doesn't mix with the added loft // or just a better friction on the face of the Callaway Opus that helps it keep up - Just possible theories though :)

im finding it hard to get an answer on this, but are the AVODA Single length a 370 hosel diameter or 355? Did you go with the Axiom parallel or Axiom Tapered?

Hiya, I'm not sure! I can't find any info on it online and the receipt the chap that owned them didn't indicate either way I had them for the video and then sold them for him so that's the only reason they came through the shop :)

Hi, I am Darren from Germany. With a height of 1.77 meters and a weight of 80 kilograms, I have an athletic and balanced physique, which gives me stability and control in my golf swing. Current I am playing the Wilson Launchpad 2 clubs at regular graphit shafts, and I achieve a consistent carry distance of 135 meters with my 7-iron. I’m considering using one length irons set to the length of a 9-iron, since it’s my most reliable club. However, I’ve been advised by many that the shaft might be too short to achieve the distance that I need. Could this shorter length impact my performance, or could it still be a helpful setup for improving my consistency across LW - i5 irons? Thx for your feedback!

I would say that's not a great idea to reduce the length to a 9 iron ...You'll be enjoying the 9 iron for a number of reasons but loft is a big factor If you cut down a set, the lie angles will be bad and the swingweights will be bad and do more harm than good I would say coaching is my best recommendation to improve, If you have the athletic ability, 135 is short and technique will help you build the speed and confidence through the ball

why don't they do 2 length irons? 1 wedge length for Lw Sw GW and PW, and 1 iron length for 9 through 3?

@@oliverizzard8751 harder to manufacture the multiple head weights ....each iron head cast is something like £100k to set up 1 set for standard length heads and then 1 set for one length heads.. Probably a lot to be said for the demand ...they need to sell the product and too much choice could make sell through more difficult 😄🤔🤓

@@FredzGolf 1 iron golf are good, all 7 irons length (sized to your wrist to floor), but long irons still hard to hit for me anyway - I would prefer hybrids (the Pinhawks are not bad replacements but hard to get in the UK now). The GRIA are good long irons, but far too long in the short - 4 iron length as standard is really odd in a wedge.

If you aren’t citing the loft numbers of each club, the comparison is not very helpful or accurate.

Every club with a number on is a different loft to another club with the same number on it... Could say this for every review ever - lofts not always mentioned ...I'll try and up my game for you eh :)
