Having a wish list is always very useful to shop intentionally. Also beware of fake webshops and when a deal looks too good to be true, it usually is🤷‍♀️

Done that and I feel so silly, I should have known better! I now own a cashmere sweater with less cashmere in it than a plastic bag. I don’t know what it’s made of, there’s no label.

I’ve never bought clothing on a Black Friday sale. This is when I replenish my skincare and hair products for the year ahead. I am also buying the patio furniture I had budgeted for as it is an even better deal now.

Your tips make two great points for me: checking the quality of a garment by zooming in and using different colors for transparency issues and the return policy. I have been burned by a company (American name) giving full return "store credit," but the return address is China, and I had to pay for the shipping. It was a costly mistake for me, but it was a nice donation to the local charity.

Good tips and ideas. Thank you for sharing these. To avoid impulse buys I typically wait until I've looked at the item 3 times before committing. And yes, checking every item as thoroughly as possible (on -line) is a must. It doesn't stop the regrets but it does lessen them! Best wishes!

After working in retail for sometime in college. Black Friday isn’t a big deal for me. There are other sales throughout the year and you are correct. Most companies put a high price on the tag then discount the item. And usually the quality is very poor. In addition, now that companies have the sales a week in advance and even days after I feel like it’s taken out the “fun” in Black Friday sales now.

Interesting what you said about checking out the colour online of your proposed purchase. When shopping online at my favourite chain store Marks and Spencer I always look at the other colour ways and often find I don’t like or need the garment after all, it was only a nice colour that first took my eye.
