The simplest example of sitting in a chair after knee surgery and by far the best and most helpful. Works like a charm. Thanks for posting this.

Thank you. Yes, this is helpful. I also would benefit from learning how to sit comfortably . My surgical leg stiffens and becomes painful after sitting for more than a few minutes
@restorepluspt
@restorepluspt Жыл бұрын
Great question Donna. That is very common after knee replacement. I suggest moving your leg frequently to counter the stiffness. And switch positions every 15 minutes to avoid getting the stiffness. Hope this also helps. Also, I would like to invite you to join our private facebook group where you can learn a lot more on knee replacements. We will also be having a knee replacement challenge in 2 weeks where I can address more questions. The info will be in the group. Link is in the description.

I'm so sorry to hear this @user-zo2ln1en4l. You have gone through a lot. I pray for your healing🙏. As per your question if you will be able to sit cross legged, based on the surgeries you had, I am not sure if that will be possible. And even if it is, I would not recommend it to patients with hip and knee replacements. Wish you the best!♥

You're welcome @MistyMaam. Great to hear that you are mentally ready. Doing pre-op exercises will help you with your recovery. Studies show that the better the condition is before surgery, the better the outcome. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. Good luck on your surgery. 🙏

You're welcome @PascasiaRweyemamu-ls2yf. To get up more easily, scoot out of the seat, lean forward and get up from that position. Leaning forward makes it easier to get up. Hope this helps.🙏

My calf is sore to the touch is this normal and behind my knee is swollen still making it painful to bend my knee into 90% position. When I left hospital it was better but my leg has gone huge. Also my ankle swells and is painful. Please could you advise I’ve been told this is normal and everyone heals differently but I’m afraid I’m not improving or going in the right direction, I’m 2weeks post operation getting around on crutches. Thank you C Marshall.

Dear Christine. I'm sorry to hear this. First thing I will recommend is to call your Surgeon ASAP or go to the ER so they can rule out DVT/blood clot. Based on your stage post-op and from what you described, that is possible. Rule that out immediately as that can be dangerous. If DVT/blood clot is ruled out, the doctor can check what is causing the swelling and pain. Is it cellulitis or something else? The pain on the back of the knee can be bakers cyst if the surgeon did not remove it during the surgery. Wish you the best🙏

What if you have osteoarthritis in the hip torn labrum on the same side of TKR how can I modify this exercise
@restorepluspt
@restorepluspt 10 ай бұрын
Good question @hluvv7607. One modification I suggest if starting with a high seat so you don't have to squat as low. That will put less pressure on the hips. I recommend strengthening the hip and knee muscles at the same time to address both issues. There are exercises that hit both areas at the same time since they are connected. Hope this helps.🙏

@restorepluspt
@restorepluspt 3 ай бұрын
I'm sorry to hear this @waheedacassim9737. There are a couple of things here. It is important to determine what is causing the pain. Is it inflammation or is there something else? Also having good strength on your quads and gluts max are important in getting up from sitting position. Getting the inflammation down and strengthening those muscles will be a good place to start. I hope this helps.🙏

You really should explain WHEN you can sit like that. That is, how long after surgery. In the videos you are at or past 90 degrees on both legs at times, and just getting to 90 degrees is not feasible for many people. Are you suggesting people can put their operated knee in that position right after surgery???
@restorepluspt
@restorepluspt Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the feedback Kerry. There is no specific time frame when people can sit at or past 90 degrees after TKR. Some get it in a week, some in a month. Doing the bending frequently after the surgery helps get the range faster.

@@restorepluspt I would recommend straighten your TKR leg forward a bit, as soon you put your buts back, before sitting
