Avoid doing this when you install Tubeless Sealant on your Gravel Bike! 🙈

I would only recommend gorilla tape if you are doing a mullet conversion of a non-tubeless ready rim. Reason being that that tape is very thick and it can prevent the tire from being able to move up onto the edge of the rim where it needs to be seated. People really seem to like the 3M 8896/8898 strapping tape as an alternative to the name-brand tubeless tapes. I would also recommend that you only try converting your other bikes using tubeless ready tires. It is possible to use a tubeless tire on a standard rim and make it work, but it's almost impossible to get a non-tubeless tire to seal on any rim - the bead just isn't designed for it.

What pressures are you running on for the road in tuneless setup and what is the total weight of the bike after tubeless setup. Nice vid.

Im running 45psi on the tyres (max is 60 psi) but i take some out run about 35ish if on heavy gravel. Tyres are maxxis ramblers and are quick on all terrain including road! Weight, hard to tell as the bike is loaded with gear i reckon 14kg easy

After some research my trek roscoe wheels and tyres are tubeless ready so thats a job for my next day off

Nice vid but why did you use the plug on the small hole that looked like it had sealed? Been tubeless for a good 20 years now and no going back :) Love your vids… put together so well… cheers

Thanks for watching 🐵 The hole i had was leaking air very slowly it was more of a tear after further investigation. Unsure if i could of used more sealant 🤷‍♂️. Not as bad as when I done the back wheel. No issues in the process but…. I over inflated the tire it “popped” off sounded like a gun and I looked like i had robbed a bank due to the sealant all over me 🙊 i wish i had caught it on camera. I’m hoping all will be fine i have had a quick road test but hoping next ride will tell!

@@ThatCyclingChimp what sealant are you using, I love squirt stuff, small holes seal so easy, just remember to keep wheel spinning so sealant covers casing as air is leaking, the squirt stuff has bead block you add it’s great, holes 2 to 3mm seal no problem

Im using the sealant that came with the muc off kit. Managed a quick test run today and no issues so the adventures can continue 🙊
