As a Floridian, my #1 reason for not wanting to move to anywhere in PA is: snow.
@livinginphiladelphiasuburbs7 ай бұрын
My wife would agree with you. My kids and I love snow, though. Building snowmen, snowball fights, sledding, ice skating when the ponds freeze over, etc. I can't handle the summer months in Florida, way too hot.
@backtoasimplelife7 ай бұрын
Lived in PA my whole life. In the mountains. The older I get the less snow we get. We didn't even put in the snow tires this winter. Thought about moving to FL since it's less corrupt than PA but the humidity is insane and I'm not a fan of the storms you guys have been getting for ions, evidenced by the ancient sunken ships. The metal detecting after the storms would be fun though.

Work from home jobs becoming more popular is changing a lot of where people want to live. If they don't need to live close to work in the city, they seem to be moving to the suburbs. Obviously, there are other factors as well but that's definitely contributing to it with how many clients I'm helping move to the suburbs out of the city because they don't need to be close to work anymore.

@@livinginphiladelphiasuburbs so left a very nice home in DelCo in 2018. The 5 counties are stagnant. Moved to Florida. It’s jumping here. New construction, jobs, weather. Less crime. The homeless are almost invisible because they live in the woods. Philadelphia is like gangrene. If you can bring back Frank Rizzo it would have a chance. But jobs will stay dead. It hurts me to see the city die. Except for bad traffic, it pleases me to see all the success of Florida. I live six miles from Disney. In DelCo I lived 6 miles from Philly. Easy choice. Good luck with your vids. Wishing you well.

@@livinginphiladelphiasuburbs There are many opportunities for Realtors that move here. It’s a different market. Properties move. Buyers come here with cash. Lots of new construction with broker incentives. Up to 100% commissions (no broker split) in some offices. More buyers than sellers, usually.

I disagree about your statement about the lack of green space. The entire video is told from the point of view of a die-hard suburbanite.
@livinginphiladelphiasuburbs7 ай бұрын
It is 100% told from the perspective of someone, like myself, that grew up in the suburbs and still live here. I am used to driving on roads where most people have front yards, or there are wooded lots or trees lining the streets, plenty of playgrounds on multiple acres of land, small farms scattered throughout, you can drive a mile or two seeing nothing but grass/woods/creeks etc. So compared to that, there are not a lot of green spaces in the city but that could be probably true for a lot of cities, not just Philly. Do you live in Philly? What are the areas that I missed that have a lot of green spaces aside from Fairmount Park or along the Schuylkill River Trail?
@matthewraden52107 ай бұрын
@@livinginphiladelphiasuburbs I used to live in Philly. Washington Square Park, Fitler Square, the new Spruce St Park along the Delaware waterfront, Rittenhouse Square. The Ben Franklin Parkway has Logan Circle and is tree-lines all the way to the Art Museum. Lots of places not mentioned.
