I genuinely don’t think I had an ugly phase. I’m not saying this “to empower” myself. I genuinely don’t see when I had an ugly stage. Maybe because I wore my hair messy too often before I had locs 😂

I get in my head and get discouraged. I was actively combing my micro braidlocs out and this video popped up and stopped me dead in my tracks. Putting them back in immediately. Lol! Thankfully I didn't get too far. 😅

Hey...how long have you had your locs? And are those micorlocs oe sisterlocs? I'm going on 4-months in Jan two strand twists microlocs...I'm loving the ease of not having to worry about "taken down" my hair anymore!

So I’ve had my locs for 8 years actually! They are traditional locs in a “smedium” size. Started with 2 strand twists. I found that over the years as my locs matured they got tighter and appear smaller. I actually wanted sisterlocs initially but decided not to because of the firm maintenance schedule.

I am working on it. As of now, I know people's opinions still matter too much for me to loc my hair. I thought I was in a place of not caring until someone said something about my hair recently. Because I was hurt by it, I know I am not ready to loc my hair.

@NattyAnn I'm a loose natural & my hair was in a puff. At work one of the VPs came up to me to give me my baby photo that I submitted for a themed luncheon. He said the photo looked just like me, except I have big hair now. He then asked if my current hairstyle was called a big crown triple weave.
