He should have given the ‘controversy’ generated recently when another American ‘internet personality’ did a 30 minute clip on how ‘music is not haram’ ! He is a popular Sunni guy with large blind following. That guy is no scholar but tragucally too many blind followers and some might have felt that music is halal so YQ had perfect opportunity to nip the evil in the bud.
