So sorry the the experience but Delhi (and most of the tourist places in India) will have touts who will be friendly and will likely scam you. It's better to ask policemen for directions or just follow Google Maps as 90% will be scammers. These hustle culture guys think that all foreigners have money and its their right to scam them, sad but the truth.
