In Tasmania the test of whether someone is a good person or a friend is apparently "would this person drive to pick me up on the side of the road if my car broke down."

No It shows a beautiful Tropical island, your poisoned mind sees the effects of rising sea levels on Pacific islands, the photo does not show this.

This shed a lot of light on an event that happened to me. Recently had to break away from a long standing friendship, childhood friend. Realize now that while I had low expectations for them, they had very high expectations of what I had to provide them and I couldn't match that. In the end I think it caused this friend to view me with contempt, I understand in their mind I broke their trust when I didn't meet their ridiculous standards. Plus they were an insanely jealous person. Thanks Jordan, this has weirdly given me closure.

God I've had this, but I know I've made the same mistake so i can't hold it against anyone. I read a book a while back by Erich Fromm, described it as (paraphrasing) them putting you up on a pedestal and feeling betrayal when you shatter the illusion. Feels shit on either side.

This principle can also be applied to friendships as well as a relationships. Trust is absolutely crucial at the cores of both

Ive been following this for a while with all relationships, romantic and otherwise, but ive thought of it more as a capacity for genuine effort. I can feel the difference between between people who want to put effort and time in because that's who they are, and people who do it out of obligation or expectation, and the latter will always eventually fizzle out. The difference between "thats just who I am" and "this is what i have to do", intrinsic vs extrinsic

13:52 my girlfriend doesn’t understand why I love her. She put my best interest first. So I stopped everything and put her first. She found out how much work I do, and her response was that she’ll do her best to support me even if she’s not confident about her abilities. I wanted to cry she’s amazing.

Shiiiiit, this hits home. It's bad that all the people I trust (using your definition, which is as good of a definition for Trust that I've ever heard) is the people I spend 40 hours a week alongside. Can't rely on anyone else. Does also lend a new light onto relationships that one partner doesn't trust the other

Intention changes action. if you do something to "try to be cool", you will be cringe. the same action will have different outcomes (unfortunately, following this advice in order to get the benefit is aslo uncool intentions, and will make the behaviour cringey. you don't do something to be cool, you do it because its cool and you want to do it).

The root of all currency is Trust. Thats why trading is what people who cant trust eachother do. If you cant trust eachother, you can at least trust ore to be ore and wheat to be wheat. Thanks for the advice Jordan. Ill try to keep it in mind. Its hard to keep all this at the front of your brain though.

Was thinking about this today on the train. I think (yes, I do think a lot) it is more sexual and someone that makes you feel like you found the Jackpot and can show off to your friends? That said, I am single by choice as I have yet to find someone sexually attractive. The end.

I got a question is it possible to date someone with different political beliefs? I feel like there's a scale or... speedometer level before it's too much, but I'm curious if you disagree with anything with your gf that can't be remediated?
@John-ei6xg Жыл бұрын
if you're not a stupid asshole about it it's not an issue at all. People don't fail to mesh because of different views they fail to mesh because of a lack of respect.
@我的家-j4b Жыл бұрын
What John said. Legit, you don't need to agree politically to be with or love someone. There's plenty of couples and parents that lean opposite of each other politically and still love each other.
@Elemblue2 Жыл бұрын
If you have conversations with each other you'll usually find you believe more or less the same things but the opposite propaganda core got to you first. If you genuinly disagree on a fundamental stance, then at least you know why. Usually thats emotional, and its hard to blame someone for that. For some things you just have to make a choice.

Good point made Jordan, but kind off hard to take advice from a political, comedic genius with a history in modelling that has the skull shape that people in the black pill community refer to when trying to absolve their miserable lives of the slightest bit of responsibility.
