Back in 2017 on Bulletproof podcast, a doctor noted this -- When we biopsy human fat tissue, we now have a more LIQUIDY type of fat than 50 years ago. We are eating industrial fats - vegetable, canola oils. ONE consequence is Cellulite. We can see when our fat is more liquid and inflammatory. Normal fat has collagen to keep fat organized. Skin will stay smooth rather than dimpled.

Margaret O'Connor, I believed you! Only 5 months after I started low carb, I had my yearly appointment with my Ophthalmologist. When she was done, she asked what I was doing differently for the past year. I said I just started a low-carb diet 5 months ago. She said I asked because I'm not seeing diabetes in your eyes anymore. I said I didn't know that you could've seen diabetes in my eyes! She said yes. I was astonished to know within only 5 months of consuming low carb my eyes were getting healthier. She then asked about my diet and I told her. I also asked that she pass on the information to her other patients and she smiled. My next appointment would be on June 19th. Take care, Margaret O'Connor and God bless 🙏🌹

Try telling someone who was indoctrinated for years that margarine is bad for you. It’s almost impossible to get through to them. I’m a butter lover, always have been. I don’t go overboard with it though. My most frustrating moment was when I was hospitalized and they pushed margarine for the patients with their meals. I complained to no avail. I think another important aspect of the ancestral diet is the small eating window. I believe their bodies had time to get rid of toxins without consuming fake oils and concentrated sugar, due to the lack of availability naturally. Preparing food those days was a BIG job, if food was in supply, as jou will realize when not relying on processed food and takeaways. From gathering fuel to hunting, never mind tending to animals and facing danger. So, in my humble opinion, intermittent fasting plus extended fasting goes with the above mentioned as a long-term strategy for health and longevity. Good channel! Keep up the good work, and God bless. Ps. I lost 45 kg's and recovered completely from a stroke. I am on no medication and never visit a doctor. Thanks to people like you!

I think of it as metabolic health and carb tolerance. Carb tolerance is low when metabolically unhealthy. In the short term low carb is absolutely the answer, but not fully addressing the underlying metabolic issue. Eating carbs past your tolerance reduces metabolic health, as do other factors. A major contributor to reduced metabolic health is seed oils. They activate the endocannabinoid system causing overconsumption of calories. On top of this, excess Linoleic Acid, a major component of these oils is incorporated into your cell membranes and fat stores, and also a long term mitochondrial toxin. The mean elimination half life of these fats is 1-2 years. This means for most people it will take 3-6 years to get the levels back to ancestral levels. As this occurs, your tolerance of carbs will improve, sometimes to the point you benefit from a low level of healthier unprocessed carbs. I started off low carb, but have since incorporated more carbs into my diet, with a focus on the less processed type. Personally I noted the following benefits on my journey over the years: • Arthritis gone • chronic pain disappeared • sinus inflammation and allergies gone • resolved my sleep apnea (with clear sinuses, I nose breath when I obstruct instead, no cpap needed) • lifelong asthma disappeared after 3-4 years • Sun UV tolerance significantly increased.. I only get a mild burn at worst, barely feels warm, clothing not uncomfortable to touch it. This is after an entire day with no prior sun exposure, and it heals in a day or 2. • don't get really hungry anymore and can easily go 16+ hours without eating, even if I eat high carb the day prior cause my friends wanted pizza. Can't say the same will occur for everyone, but seems to be in line with others experiences I've heard and spoken with.

Both carbs and added sugar decreased simultaneously. Your theory already falls apart. Ken has a better theory with the increased in consumption of fruit juice in regards to the impact of sugar but I'm still skeptical. Sugar is a problem but it just pales in comparison to the damage that vegetable oils cause.

Yep…I followed the vegan diet for 3 years. It’s full of plant toxins (phytates, lectins & oxalates) that bind to various nutrients & make them not bioavailable. On top of that, it’s full of lots of sugars, grains & vegetable oils, Exactly what you shouldn’t eat! Horrible diet that gave me horrible health after only 3 years. Ketovore has saved me…& I’ll likely go full carnivore due to my arthritis.

Linoleic acid, a primary component of seed oils, is by itself harmless. The issue is it doesn't stay as Linoleic acid (LA)... It oxidizes easily. LA and it's metabolites form many toxic compounds, known as OXLAM'S. Examples are 9 and 13 HODE, or the better known 4-HNE. LA is also incorporated into the mitochondrial cell membrane as part of cardiolipin. When it oxidizes there, it can create a chain creation, causing a confirmational structural change, making the membrane leaky and mitochondria dysfunctional. This readily explains all our chronic disease today. Combine this with the data from Thomas Seyfried, and this could easily explain our cancer epidemic as well.

Dr. Berry made such a good point about what hypothesis to form and then research in regard to the rise in seed oil fat consumption correlating closely to the rise in heart disease. The researchers ended up testing the wrong hypothesis, that saturated animal fat caused heart disease. And that why we’ve made no progress in reducing heart disease.

This is why I appreciate dr Berry and all his guests. I just spoke with someone who cannot afford health insurance: folks in their 40's - 50's: as we get older private health insurance becomes unaffordable (crazy expensive) even if you are very healthy. It should not be this way - if people eat the proper human diet along with some natural supplements, nootropics & appropriate orthomolecular medicine approaches - it's guaranteed the healthcare costs would be 25% of what it currently is! I see the same thing over and over on the front lines of where I work as a licensed physical therapist. It's very hard to get through to people. This is a grassroots movement but still I persist - I share as much information as I can. Example - ppl on bisphosponate medications along with proton pump inhibitors that are coming up with compression fractures in their spine & other easily fractured bones just from a light fall... people that are not even that old - now you tell me there's no connection between the meds plus the poor diet??? Yes there definitely is.... 🙏

I forgot to mention, since last Sept I have been on the carnivore way of eating with zero carbs. Before that I was on the Mediterranean diet for 6 months (Mediterranean diet is a huge scam by the way. Carnivore diet is an ancestral proper human diet.) But for a year I have been off processed plant sugar foods, and off vegetable oils. My whole life (I turn 47 this year) I have had 20/20 vision but with a slight stigmatism. I visited my optometrist for my yearly check up this past March. She didn’t know about the carnivore diet/ proper human diet so I shared that info and gave her Dr. Berry, Dr. Baker, Dr. Chaffee, and Dr. Knobbe’s names. She was amazed as my stigmatism is improving! She said it has improved by a quarter! She plans to look into all this diet info and hopefully start informing her other patients about it. Glaucoma runs in my family and that I am trying to avoid. My optometrist looks forward to seeing me in a year to see if my stigmatism improves even more. I am her first guinea pig carnivore patient. Haha

That's because no one in modern times are eating an ancestral diet people get that confuse even this DR. Example the Hadza they don't eat an ancestral diet but a lot of people think they do just because they still hunt but the animals they hunt is not ancestrally correct. Meaning they are hunting. Animals that humans did not evolve to eat that's why they have to eat the organs. Humans did not evolve eating organ meat humans evolved eating muscle meat and and the associated fat but unfortunately peoples natural food supply has been decimated for a long time so now what you see even in hunter-gatherer tribes they are not eating a ancestral diet. It's a reason organ meat taste disgusting to most people it's because humans did not evolve eating those things we had plenty of large fatty animals to hunt so there was no need to go for the organs. Humans evolved as a energy food seeking species not a micro nutrient seeking species that's the problem.

I wish everyone could watch the manufacturing of seed oils. It's positively frightening to see the petrochemicals used to strain the oil and make it look clear and remove rank weird tastes. Seed oil is numero uno, a ultra processed item, designed originally to lube machinery during the war. Granulated suger and all other suger sweetners derived from grains and plants are ultraprocessed. No where in nature does such weird items exist. I am 65 and the wheat here in America is not the same genetically as when I was a kid. The protein and chromosome count has changed dramatically through intense cultivation. And then the flour is super processed. It's not like burros are walking in a circle in an old fashioned mill. This is an era of a perfect storm. The ultraprocessed grain, the ultra processed suger, the ultra processed machine oil....our bodies are biologically created to actually digest a basic meat diet. We are ultimately designed to survive, hence we manage to live despite the gross exposure to ultraprocessed crap, to living for years as vegan/ vegetarian ( as i did) suffering without adequate animal proteins and fats. We are corrupting the natural functions of the body. We have corrupted the proteins, adding highly refined plant/ seed protein to faux foods to make them more " nutritious." We add highly refined seed oils in the stead of animal fats. We use plant carbs as extenders to thicken virtually everything from hamburger to yogurt. I was very disturbed to read the labels of Yoplait yougert in the state of Colima, Mexico. Same container as in America, but the milk protein had been reduced to less than 5%. The amount of added fat and sugers was bumped up. It's bad enough the suger s added to the carb load, but my goodness what was the " added fat"!!???. I know the milk fat is pulled for butter, but to replaced it with a seed oil, just for Mexican consumers is sickening and unethical. Everyone in the little towns there think Youplait is a great food. Our " foods" are so mucked about with. We really have no idea what's being done. Real Food, that has not been manhandled is the best. Real protein, Real Fat and very seasonally if YOU are willing to climb the tree, may be some honey. Maybe a hard bread if YOU are going to hand grind it. It takes effort and time to gather together small amounts of foods that ate not fresh meat. Fresh meat is the closest to " fast food" that's possible. It's no wonder our gut is designed to eat meat. Long live the HUNTERS!!
