I was hospitalized for a surgery and was talking to an older RN and we were discussing diets. I brought up Paleo/Keto and suggested how it remedies many afflictions. Best wishes on your journey of increasing your proteins to help restore your muscle loss! ❤

This is not medical advice, as I am not a doctor. This is just what I would do: stop taking Trulicity, lower carbs enough to get into ketosis, eat plenty of red, fatty meat and stop taking a protein supplement, and implement a shorter eating window, based on what you do today (if you eat within 12 hours currently, shorten the window to 10 hours, then 8, then 6). I may also put walking on hold until I felt better, depending on what I was inspired to do. I would also eventually add lifting weights when in a fasted state.

According to my mother I was born constipated, and that finally stopped when I stopped eating vegetables as well as carbs. And it's a real shame doctors know nothing about teeth: health starts in our mouths! And the NHS here in the UK is fasing dentists out of their service! Madness.

A lot of discussion on Keto/Carnivore helps with diabetes but not as much about the benefits with cancer. My husband had a metastatic cancer and is undergoing immunotherapy as well as doing Keto and the doctor is shocked at how fast he responded. He is now cancer free, although immunotherapy will continue for another six months.

Thank you both so much for this insight. I am beginning my carnivore journey and found this very enlightening. I have been a nurse for over half my life and knew instinctively this was the best way to eat (heavily studied Atkins protocols in 2000) but followed conventional medicine and adopted lifestyles such as taught through "Lifestyle Medicine" all the while getting fatter and more ill. Week one down and I feel better than I did 20 years ago. Thank you both for bringing this info to the masses!

I’ve noticed that Costco has adapted their meat department to accommodate the Keto and Carnivore way of eating. They have a five pound tray of half-inch-thick Ribeyes and another tray of eight one-inch-thick Ribeyes. Personally, i stuck with my usual five pounds of ground beef, but maybe next time I’ll splurge and get the Ribeyes. My point is that the Costco buyers are following the trend and wishes of meat lovers. 👍

She has gotten off of all of her meds. Her doctor is also doing keto and gave her the option of more meds or trying keto for 6 month and she dropped 35 pounds and is doing great. I went on it just to stay healthy and cut the carbs and sugar. We also take a lot of vitamin and other supplements that also help her with the rapid heart beat by balancing her minerals. Thanks for the great video.

It could save him. You want him in ketosis because cancer doesn't like it. I was a pharmacist for 20 years and I can't believe they taught us in school the "pyamid" diet, and they teach docs that too. My Dr went from thinking I was crazy for eating carnivore, but 5 months later he was shocked when he saw me and after he got my numbers back, he told me to "continue with whatever I had been doing." We help teach our Drs that this diet fixes many conditions.

I just went through the provincial bariatric surgery process and I decided to not do it based mostly on the severe life altering state of it and their repeated guarantee that we would only lose 10-15% of the weight. The thing that bugged me is the run up to the surgery you meet with a clinical psychologist who continually put down ketogenic diets and nutritionists who also said high fibre and veg was the ideal diet for people. I'm like, "Why do I feel so much better when I eat 100% meat for two weeks?" and they never had an answer.

Thank you for this interview and thank you Dr. Westman for clearing Dr. Atkins' name and cause of death. I remember that day vividly b/c I was living in NYC at the time and it was brutally cold that day and the sidewalks were ice sheets and you had to walk in baby steps so as not to fall, though I myself slipped on the ice that same day while walking to the subway station. When I heard about Dr. Atkins doing the same, I wasn't surprised. But I cried tears of real sadness, as his blue New Revolution book that had just come out (1996-7?) saved my life at the time as I had just quit smoking and started eating like crazy. I also still have his first book from 1972, the original Revolution when he first introduced low carb eating to the world. The powers that be were always against him for obvious reasons. But his legacy lives on. Thank you again for mentioning his name and that he did not die of a heart attack, nor was he "bloated" (I remember hearing that LIE, too!). No respect.
