Avoiding Tech Support Scams

YES I know all about it and when I didn't know as much about computers as I do now I was conned by this kind of scam but I wouldn't be conned or scammed like that now as I know a lot better

I’ve tried to call a windows representative one time and omg they don’t have a phone number

They don't. They just guess. Enough people do that they have plenty of targets.

Or take ur computer to.a local repair shop

the guy got access to my gear. accounts are froze at my request but my sensitive info was exposed from 10/09- till 10/11/'20.where to go from here? i am so stupid i hate me. my son is mad as heck at me too.

Make sure you're in contact with your credit card company, and that you have someone secure your machine. You're not stupid ( askleo.com/dont-call-yourself-stupid/ ) -- this has happened to many, many people. Most important: learn from the experience.

@@askleonotenboom Leo, ok on bank alerts/ blocks. as for secure my machine-do you know what the term is called.? i think they will secure my gear but do i get 'winter air' installed at his discount or go elsewhere? hehe, can you tell me how that process is called or terminology? just wondering, thanks for your advice, much appreciated.
