Avon has many people who write their book but most of it comes from Tony Cook. He has been at avon for 5 years now and has really elevated the writing and standards of the kids. He is Vice-president of the Indiana Percussion Association, He preformed with Veritas and has worked with high schools around Indiana for 10 years. He writes some amazing beats and is a great person with an amazing attuide. Couldn't ask for a better Director.

I was Avon battery in 2000-2003. Glad to see they've really returned to former glory. They're so crispy. Fire fire

I was a member of the Avon High School Band 84-86. The music department has grown, but we all had a great time and it was so serious.

I know I already said it but I’ll say it again, easily the best scholastic snare line 2 years in a row. Also shoutout to my little bro Elijah on bass 2

10:37 Those are triple laterals. They are extremely difficult to achieve. I remember being introduced to them at a BK camp during what would've been my age out. They are still the bain of my existence. 😔 The fact that these kids can just knock them out is amazing.

I’ve noticed an improvement on writing from fall to winter. Fall book was very mono in a lot of respects while this book has a good balance. They might write by design that way in the fall so not to call out, but something I noticed.

The differences you notice are intentional. The drumline’s roll in the fall is to first and foremost to support the winds. We try to challenge the students and have our moments of WGI level difficulty during features and windows, but ultimately the percussion section is secondary during marching band. Additionally, the students are much more “green” at the beginning of the fall season . We train all year to be able to play the skills and vocabulary that you see in this video.

I would argue that they played a harder book than the top 15 of PIW
