"Don't Tell Me" You held my hand and walked me home I know why you gave me that kiss It was something like this It made me go oh oh You wiped my tears Got rid of all my fears Why did you have to go? Guess it wasn't enough To take up some of my love Guys are so hard to trust Did I not tell you that I'm not like that girl: the one who gives it all away? Did you think that I was gonna give it up to you this time? Did you think that it was something I was gonna do and cry? Don't try to tell me what to do Don't try to tell me what to say You're better off that way Don't think that your charm And the fact that your arm Is now around my neck Will get you in my pants I'll have to kick your ass And make you never forget I'm gonna ask you to stop Thought I liked you a lot But I'm really upset Get out of my head Get off of my bed Yeah, that's what I said Did I not tell you that I'm not like that girl: the one who throws it all away? Did you think that I was gonna give it up to you this time? Did you think that it was something I was gonna do and cry? Don't try to tell me what to do Don't try to tell me what to say You're better off that way This guilt trip that you put me on won't mess me up I've done no wrong Any thoughts of you and me have gone away Did you think that I was gonna give it up to you this time? I love how this song existed at a time when the whole “consent is very important” wasn’t a wide spread thing. I love how it’s talked about a bunch today, and I even bet this song helped in some way. Seeing her sing about it at a time like that is just awesome and truly inspiring. She never tries to do what is “trendy” she just does what she does.

I mean maybe, just maybe, there are actually such a thing as good guys out there. And maybe these good guys wish that good girls would stop falling for ass holes and "giving it up" to the ass holes. Maybe these good guys wish good girls would "give it up" to them instead, and then hope they realize it wouldn't actually be a bad thing that they "gave it up" to the good guys, because guess what....afterwards they will CONTINUE to treat them right, stay with them, not cheat on them, etc.... Maybe, just maybe, those are the guys y'all SHOULD be giving it up to if you want to be happy with some one? Just a thought.

@@skipperpippins7538 the fact that your first reaction to a woman talking about men ignoring consent is to victim blame women and girls and throw an old "not all men" shows that you are nothing but amother shit guy. All the self identified "nice guys" are usually the worst most entitled and misogynistic pos a woman meets, and it's not a woman's job to give men like you a chance just because you say so. @jady_vanity40153 жыл бұрын
Billie is literally trash compared to Avril Lavigne. Billie covers up her voice with audio tune and whispers into a microphone. Avril actually sings. I don’t understand why people compare Avril to someone so untalented. I mean all I did was state facts 😂 Now maybe if Billie stopped whispering and hiding her voice and actually show talent then I might find her more interesting.

@coreydelsweets2604 жыл бұрын
I am listening to this during quarantine. As a child I lived off of Avril Lavigne's music. Every time I hear it play on the TV on the music channel I rush and turn up the volume. Today she is still my favorite female rock artist because of her I really wanted to become a rock artist. Her music reminds me of my wild and somewhat proper personality traits. I hope she continues to make great rock music and don't stop cuz that is the reason I fell in love with her in the first place.🙂😀 I am from the Bahamas but I have mixed descent (Just trying to make a conversation)
@luckakovarova53494 жыл бұрын
@@coreydelsweets260 hey! I'm from the Czech Republic. Avril is my childhood. I found her when I was ten years old I think, and even now, six years later I still find myself listening to her from time to time. I was supposed to go to her concert this March but it has been cancelled because of the coronavirus. Anyway, it's probably gonna be rescheduled so I'm still looking forward to hear her songs live. I believe it has to be amazing. I now listen to more rock and metal music but I found these genres thanks to her. It's just I can't in words describe how much I love her. Wow, I didn't plan to write that much and I'm sorry if I bother you, I'm just getting really bored. Nevermind, have a nice day!
@coreydelsweets2604 жыл бұрын
@@luckakovarova5349 You didn't bothered me at all, I was bored too😂. All I have right now is my nephew, mother, sister, and my book that I am writing; hoping one day that it could get published. Music always got me through hard times. From since the beginning of this year life has been complicated, life has always been that way. This quarantine is nothing compared to what I have been through: I use to be illiterate, had terrible asthma problems, I was bullied, I was isolated in my house most of my life, neglected and abused from my father, and I went to the orphanage and still ended up back in my father's custody (This happened in my childhood but this is only a half of what happened). I don't want to tell you what I had to go through as I got older cuz it would take ages to list it and explain😂🙂. But like I was about to say I grew up in a house full of music and that is what inspired me to do certain things. My favorite genres is All types of rock and pop but I am extremely open-minded so I listen to all genres and see the light in them. My third favorite would be R & B. I love recommending music so you should listen to Miguel he does a mixture of Rock and R & B. If you really like rock search for the Wildheart album but specifically listen to Going to Hell, Simple things, Funeral, Leaves, and damned. You might like his music. Thanks for replying, I usually don't have anyone to talk to. Also, hopefully the coronavirus would end so u could finally go to that Avril Lavigne concert. If you believe in God pray a layer of protection on your family and you. Thanks for your time.

@@coreydelsweets260 you're writing a book?That's cool! I've written many books but I only show them to my friends or post them on Wattpad. What are you writing about? Maybe one day we'll both have our books published! xd Oh, I'm sorry to hear that, I don't know how it had to feel but I'm glad you survived and I hope you're better now. I also was bullied when I was younger and it's a horrible experience, I think I'll never understand what someone brings to bully someone else. It took me a long time to get over it, I became really depressed and it almost cost me life, but luckily I'm still here. My house was also full of music during my childhood, my parents used to play me a lot of old rock bands which many of them I listen to till this day (like Nirvana for example, my parents love them and so thanks to them I enjoy their songs too). I'm gonna check all those songs and will let you now what I think. You can check Bring Me The Horizon, they're my favorite band and they got me through a lot. Their sound changed a lot during the years (they went from deathcore and metalcore to rock/pop) so I would specifically recommend the whole Sempiternal album (Can You Feel My Heart, Sleepwalking, Hospital for Souls etc.) I'm also glad you replied, I honestly didn't expect that and I want you to know that if you ever need someone to talk to, I'm here for you. And I really mean that! Thank you, that's really nice of you, I hope coronavirus will go away not only so I could go to the concert but because overall I believe it would be better for everyone. I hope you're doing good.

"Don't Tell Me" You held my hand and walked me home. I know why you gave me that kiss. It was something like this. It made me go oh oh. You wiped my tears, Got rid of all my fears. Why did you have to go? Guess it wasn't enough To take up some of my love. Guys are so hard to trust. Did I not tell you that I'm not like that girl: the one who gives it all away? Did you think that I was gonna give it up to you this time? Did you think that it was something I was gonna do and cry? Don't try to tell me what to do, Don't try to tell me what to say. You're better off that way. Don't think that your charm And the fact that your arm Is now around my neck Will get you in my pants. I'll have to kick your ass And make you never forget. I'm gonna ask you to stop, Thought I liked you a lot, But I'm really upset. Get out of my head, Get off of my bed. Yeah, that's what I said. Did I not tell you that I'm not like that girl: the one who throws it all away? Did you think that I was gonna give it up to you this time? Did you think that it was something I was gonna do and cry? Don't try to tell me what to do, Don't try to tell me what to say. You're better off that way. This guilt trip that you put me on won't mess me up. I've done no wrong. Any thoughts of you and me have gone away. Did you think that I was gonna give it up to you this time? Did you think that it was something I was gonna do and cry?
