Brilliant - a complete education for any modern young drivers who've never used a manual choke or seen a can of Holt's Dampstart. I liked the experiments with shutter speed; a stationary ground run is always a good time to try try new things.

Thankyou. Choke's and 'damp start' - now that brings back a few memories - also the days when you could fix your own car (but often needed to!) without needing computer equipment. I will continue my search for a camera that films as the eye sees, although that may be impossible.👍

That's some serious steampunk there! 👍👍

Some excellent detail shots here! I had not realised the cylinders were screwed into the crankcase, a very lightweight way of achieving attachment, good idea to tether the tail skid to the tractor, with slippery grass it will creep forward even though chocked. Chris B.

09:41 - fun fact, the claw shaped device in the centre of the prop hub is for a Hucks starter, an engined powered starter on the back of a truck, and Shuttleworth has one I believe.

Yes, you're right. Shuttleworth does have one. I nearly added that to the film, but without the vehicle's presence it would be confusing.

@@HighFlight quite right, there will always be another day to show it in action 🙂
