Got mine with 8 screws and used them all. Stupid easy. The high one is the way to go. Others stop at the hood lines and look weird.

Hey, so i just installed avs bug deflector on my 4runner too but after installing, it won’t latch on. Did you do any adjustments? Or you just push the hood down hard?

I had that too but I readjusted screws . And it worked . Maybe they’re on too right from one side for you

AVS provides 2 extra sets of screws, washers and tabs, is there any reason to not install the two in the middle also?

You're not the first person to have this problem. We had no issues on ours but you either need to close it harder or make clearance for the screw heads that are hitting the plastic cover. Put some grease on the screw heads and close the hood to see exactly where it is hitting, then drill holes in those spots.

Great video, although I would caution against using AVS products. Quality control is awful (received item damaged) with their products. It's been two months and many many many e-mails and still no replacement item received.

Why I can’t close the hood when installed this bug deflector 2 on 5th gen 4Runner? Did you have to remove the cover above the radiator with 13 pins?

No you should not need to remove the radiator cover. We had no clearance issues with ours installed.

Hi. what is the difference between BUGFLECTOR and BUGFLECTOR II ? can't find the difference.

From what I'm seeing, the only real difference is the Bugflector II is a little bit bigger for more protection. About a half inch or so.

Only hand wash. Never high pressure wash your truck.

I would not recommend this AVS product. After I installed mine my hood latch won’t close.
