Tarbell actually just gave a massive clue. Using tape (audio or video) to record the interview with a criminal would be more secure than digital means. So dont just laugh it off to some old fogey. To interview an anonymous Hack: - S/he would have to both Host and record the event - You would have to go to a place where to go into a source of water to soak any transmitters - You would have to remove on clothes and jewelry -- including any glasses, hearing aids, religious artifacts - You would have to travel blind folded and ear muffs - You have to be hosted somewhere underground and within a Faraday Cage Then after the interview: - The Host would have to send you a recording of the interview, a week or 2 later -- at which time you could display it on your Podcast
@fatlip8315
@fatlip8315 12 күн бұрын
I think it would work better if said Host (Lex), created an array of questions and topics, posted them on the internet - and asked Avunit to pick and choose what options in the array he or she would like to answer. And then, reply with his or her answer, and then, someone (Lex & Friends) could create a A/V Screen showing an Avatar of said Avunit, answering in a Digitized Voice of Pat from Saturday Night Live, because he or she may be a he or she, or maybe even non-binary or other.

Even if Avunit or whoever is confident they're secure, we constantly find new ways of tracking people or we find new vulnerabilities. So you never really know if you're actually secure or not. I'm no cyber security expert, but I'd imagine that a live connection is probably more dangerous. So, Lex, if you're reading this, I'd suggest the parameters of the interview with such a person be days long, where rather than having a continuous conversation, you send him a question (whether textual or aural) and allow them to respond in kind, even if this lasts for days. Then, whenever you two both agree that there is nothing more to be said, the interview is over. Then you can compile the conversation and upload it in video form. The only problem is that I'm not sure you can easily verify you ARE talking to Avunit or any other criminal. It could be some random person wanting to pull your leg. That being said, it would be an incredibly interesting interview and I hope you give it a shot (just be safe).

To be fair, the self-indungent monologue Lex went on there had little substance after the first few paragraphs and you could sense the exact point where it veered off into irrelevance and simply zone out for a while without missing anything, occasionally mentally checking in into few keywords to see if it became relevant again. Of course like you all already commented I'm sure the agent was listening closely the whole time as he is in fact trained that way.

What you said about criminals exposing flaws to create a better system made me think about my thoughts on Ted bundy. He was someone that studied law and had a job with a politician who my schools library was named after. The campus woods even had the history of where bundy perpetrated one of his crimes. Anyways after finding out about him I felt aware of my own safety and surroundings in a whole new way and I also wonder what laws changed around the country over violence against women. I mean most of the evidence was circumstantial and witness accounts and I just wonder how he actually viewed the law since he never seemed to acknowledge the limits since he would try and escape at any chance he got and other reasons.

so i delved abit in to this exact thought process i did some small time black hat hacking (hacking outside of laws) and white hat hacking (hacking within the laws) and my main motivation was with just how easy the system is to hack into most times i could get into confidential files pretty quick say less then 5 minutes some an hour or two which is pretty worrying seeing as i was a 12 year old fucking around with coding and hacking which is the whole reason i turned to white hat hacking instead of just breaking into stuff for the fun and to fuck up files as it was edgy back then i turned to offering services to boost security and make it alot more how do you say optimal instead of a few hours or even minutes to get in it could take months of peoples worms to find the back door which mainly gave enough time to switch and further length the period in most cases people gave up

@@tayyibahz9343 na definitely not too late and i was quite heavily present on 4chan from the ages of 9 upwards so i used to be on the hackers forum which put learning materials and such before it got shut down but a good way too learn is through apps yt and through websites that host and teach something called ctf (capture the flag) which is a kind of information security competition that challenges contestants to solve a variety of tasks ranging from a scavenger hunt on wikipedia to basic programming exercises, to hacking your way into a server to steal data. In these challenges, the contestant is usually asked to find a specific piece of text that may be hidden on the server or behind a webpage

Of course the FBI dude, of yea it’s a great idea, interview active criminals. He slipped in a be sure and let me know. Like asking a car salesman should I get the extended warranty, yep, great idea. When you do make sure you call me for it. If FBI guy was being 100 he would say I would love that to get me possibly closer to catching said criminal, to get in their minds as well. I would still love to see that interview with an active hacker/ criminals.

Another interesting interview would be interviewing a sociopath. Confessions of a Sociopath is a book I read many years ago. It might give you an incite into how people function with this mindset…..i am sure hackers would mostly fall into this category. This is not a judgement on good verses bad comment.

The one thing that makes me question Lex is the way he puts FBI agents or even worse CIA agents on such a pedestal when in reality CIA agents most important job is to go to a specific country, arm, fund a certain side or group and try to trigger a revolution with the hopes it turns into a regime change which leads to a small group of winners and a much larger group of losers, mainly the citizens that have their lives turned upside down and are usually exploited and victimized by the group who was installed.

Think about Snowden.....I assume he stays anonymous online? I LOVEEEEEE when breakers of the law do interviews ♥ It would be amazzzziiinnngggg to have a hacker that pisses off the FBI because they haven't been caught on here for a chat ♥ 😎 The worry about any identifying info would be on Lex's part......the other would likely know how to stay safe on their end. It would probably be tough to initiate secure conversations in the beginning, teaching how to be truly anonymous.....but maybe even in that, could give up their tactics 🤔
