Awakening 1980s FJ60 Toyota Land Cruiser After 15 years in a Storage Unit and Overhauling It

I recently helped a friend of mine rescue this early 1980s fj60 from a storage unit. It is sat in the unit for 15 years because of a bad heater core. I was then contracted to put it back together and provide a facelift to its old Landcruiser bones. Enjoy the story and transformation.

Love it and the Cruiser gods thank you for desmoging and eliminating the problematic 1st gen emissions spaghetti soup...Let it breath!!! I know you like the stock carbs, but love my Weber. I wish you could have replaced the lower tailgate. I had an easier time mining gold in my backyard than finding a good (no rust) one when I was rear-ended, but somehow managed to. I know you're a purist, but I hate those plastic center consoles as they break. There are some nice bolt in after market versions. Thanks again for breathing life back into another majestic beast and keep on crusin'! BTW, how many miles on the 2F?

Hey so I’ve seen you desmog a few 2Fs just wondering if you’re recurving the dizzy off camera or if that’s not always necessary? I would like to desmog my cruiser but not if I have to ship my dizzy off for a few weeks to be recurved. If anyone else has the answer that’d be great.

The truck will have a hiccup under power band if you don’t. Or go buy a hei distributor one that’s already been redone. This truck got a hei after the fact
