I lived in a 1956 Midway trailer coach, 10 x 50 many years ago. That one had a hallway, but it was really narrow. The wood interior made these old trailer coaches very heavy! The one that I lived in was a triple axel! I would love to restore one of these! A piece of American history when the "mobile home" became popular right after the war and young couples and families were looking for a place to live. The country was developing and growing. The freeway system, dams, and bridges were being built across the country. Trailer parks were springing up all over to accommodate house trailers. Their popularity was aimed at the idea of being able to take your house with you as you moved on to the next construction project! Not many of these survive today. I can't wait to see this one restored!

The 50's mobile homes are kinda cool; they look like they're designed to move. By the late 60's, they began to look more like sheds.

I grew up in one identical to this one, sans washing machine! How fun to see! The walk through bedroom was my room until the age of 13. Our Spartan was sadly sold for a brand new trailer. Can’t wait to see this one restored!

I too grew up in this Spartan trailer....... everything is the same but no washing machine, no jalus windows..... Our window was a picture window. No carpet, had linoleum flooring. We moved from Pennsylvania to Arizona to California to Texas....... That trailer was rugged.😊

I think Jim Rockford lived in a unit like this one. Out in the middle of a parking lot by the beach in L.A.

... I absolutely love these old trailers, this one has 2 years on me so of course it needs TLC... ... I grew up in SoCal, Indio, Coachella, Palm Springs area and there were trailers and trailer parks sprinkled through out the desert and I always thought they looked so cool, so "modern"... ... I just loved the idea that you could hitch up to your car and move anytime you wanted... ... To this day when I passa trailer park, if I have the time I will drive through and marvel at some of these classics of yesteryear...
