A big difference,. A stock k series sleeves can handle 600hp all damn day, so you;d just need some piston and rods for that. But for 1000hp you'd need at least a cam, sleeves on top of that.

Why are there so many FWD Civics racing in the US? Serious question. FWD makes sense for a family hatchback running back and forth to the shops but no sense at all at the dragstrip to me. If those motors were put in a RWD car of similar weight they'd be around a second faster.

Not true at all, the only real main advantage of rwd for the drag strip is better traction off the launch since the center of gravity is pushed back when the engine revs hard, thus digging the back tires into the ground for better traction. These engines don’t produce the same amount of engine uplift like the LS engines do.
