I'd use 2k epoxy primer before spraying the rubberized undercoat and use sealer over the welds. To protect the inside, use a spraywax or fluid film nas. Other than that great work. Greets from Germany ✌️

Question: wouldn't it be a good idea to install cv axles to center the diff correctly or do you have to make special length axles.
@TheBiigBadWolf6 жыл бұрын
EXACTLY, I would of started with the driveshaft and then the rear axles just to know where exactly im suppose to have the differential at. Second, I would of had it professionally welded because if those welds break.....

I was thinking the same thing listening to them welding. All I kept thinking about in my head was the weld wire dripping on to some of that metal instead of actually fusing into it. I really hate sounded like a dick but man, you have a lot of work into this car to be half assing such important part of the build.

ScienceofSpeed you’re gonna shit yourself when you relaize your entire car is held together by like 50 spot welds
@joeuno3856 жыл бұрын
I love the hate on your welds and the "safety" concerns. I mean its gonna be awd so if you lose the rear diff you still have the front wheels under power so most likely you'll still have control of the car. But I'm not a rocket scientist so good luck have fun! Props on the build man I can't wait to see you and all the KZbinr awd conversions hit the track!
@partypigthefirst5 жыл бұрын
ah yes, when his diff bracket snaps and the diff falls out of the car and tumbles onto an open highway, can’t wait for some driver who isn’t paying attention to hit a giant chunk of metal going highway speeds. whole accident is then theoretically caused because of someone else’s ignorance. TLDR yes he will have front power to keep driving, but that doesn’t mean the diff isn’t gonna fall out and tumble on public roads. Even at low residential speeds that’s major damage to someone’s car. at highway speeds... well that’s a whole other story. there is no hate, it’s just safety concerns.

Did you guys leveled the diff before welding ?
@toki896663 жыл бұрын
Mounting up my rear diff is going to be quite a pain in the ass. I'm a straight H swap guy and am saving up for one of Few H22 Crew's billet H22 AWD bell housing, it is designed to use the much stronger K series T case, but since obviously H/B/F series are counterclockwise rotating assemblies with the trans on the right or "passenger" side, this means the K series T case will be upside down as its flipped around the other way, this means the driveshaft spins to other way which means whatever rear diff I go with it will have to be mounted upside down. See why this will be a PITA? I don't think I'll even be able to modify a rear diff mount kit, one will have to be fully fabbed up for my dream setup. I reckon drilling and tapping a new drain plug hole will be one of the easiest parts. It is extremely difficult to find any pics of this rear diff mount set up. I can only find a brief video clip only showing from the inside facing outwards under the rear of the car, I wish I could just find pics from the opposite angle as well as side views. Anybody know where Aaron Lopez may have pics or a VLOG of gabbing up his rear diff mount?

Please, for everyone's safety next time take a quick welding course at a community college to become proficient before trying to weld in such a crucial piece of a car's drive train that is going to be driven on public roads. Good, professional welds are very crucial for it to stay together correctly and not hurt someone on the road, or YOU , especially if you plan on putting a decent amount of power to it(knowing you, I'm sure it will be very powerful).I'm not trying to be mean, I just have never heard of a inexperienced welder welding drivetrain parts on a street car like its a go kart and it going well. It's not smart to start your welding practice on a car, especially it's drive train. That is somewhat similar to a person starting their welding practice on a Nuclear Reactor. Not to mention illegal when it comes inspection time if it isn't done by a certified welder, unless you just plan to haul it to drag events.
