Hello Ladies & Gentlemen and as always, thank you for watching. Today, we get to play in the only mud hole in Missouri, at the time.... Unfortunately for the driver of this John Deere, while mowing, he found mud & clay even though we hadn't had rain for a very long time. It may not seem like much, but being buried that deep creates a LOT of resistance that has to be overcome. I had just given an in-house training class so this was a good "hands on" for the guys. And, it was a decent challenge.
I'm "catching up" on some of my videos that I've been holding while working on the ECJV Eaton Cummins project. Thanks for you patience! I hope you all enjoy this video!!! Thanks for watching and God bless!!!

My common analogy, "there are many ways to reach 10". I could have approached this (any) job several different ways. The approach method is important, but more important is achieving the desired result, safely.
Again, a very special thank you to all my viewers, family, and friends who having taken the time to show their support. May God bless and protect you all!!!

I am retired from a state transportation department. Our maintenance crews used to put wire ropes around the rear axle run them under the tractor up to the front and through a steel plate. That allowed quick access when a tractor got stuck.

I spent 30 years drilling Seismic Shot Holes with a Drill Mount Skidder type of vehicles. Want to talk about winching ? Man I have seen it going across country enduring steep grades, marshy areas and creek crossings to name a few. So watching you work the Rotator through many situations brings back some memories. May the Midwest Family and Associates stay safe.

I haven’t watched a Ron Pratt recovery in a while. Watching you teach your guys is so refreshing. Reminds me of my dad. He would tell my brothers and I to “figure it out”, which is good to get the brain working, but when we got stuck, he was hands on.

It's good to see Ethan carrying on the "Pratt fall" tradition lol! He also looks like he's either lost some weight or gotten taller, maybe both! Many people don't realize how easy it can be to get heavy equipment stuck. It only takes a little bit of soft ground to load the tires and you're done. Sometimes you can back out of it and it looks like this guy tried to. With the wing mower attached, that obviously didn't work. As always, be safe and God bless you, your crew and your equipment!

Greetings from Ohio ..... As always, job well done! The sheer power of the rotator is absolutely amazing. Having worked with and around machinery much of my life, it's amazing that you were able to get him out that 'seemingly effortlessly ' ..... That was a much more strenuous pull than it appeared. Clay creates a tremendous inability to do anything but just sit and wait for something with enough guts to get the job done .... and the rotator was there to serve the purpose. Again, well done at every level of the job .... Stay safe and well, and Blessings to you.

Ron's Rotator really is a *BEAST* and has so much insane pulling power. You're right in that it made this job look simple. It probably was simple for this truck. I'm not sure it's actual weight limit but I'm sure it could pull/tug much heavier things than this (even with the resistance factored in from the clay) too.

Yankum Rope for the win. Endless loop would have worked too I'm sure but that rope added that little bit extra tug power due to its design that the strap(s) would have lacked. Glad Ethan was ok from their Pratt Fall. Mis-judging a gap is easy to do. Good save on his part too from getting muddy as well. May all your calls be injury free.

Ron, years ago, I was on assignment to clean truck tires at a C&D (commercial and demolition) landfill, and they would cover the tipping area with clay, and when the waste trucks came off the hill, my associate and I had to clean what they called "peanut butter," off the tires, and this was a state requirement. Some drivers didn't like this, but it all worked out in the end. This clay reminded me of that place. We actually used fire hoses and water from a creek to do this work.

The many ways to 10: My first thought was to disconnect the mower and pull it up to the road by itself. After pulling the tractor out, they could reconnect. Then you pointed out that the hitch (and likely the drive) were buried. Your way worked just fine. I was worried about the tie rods, but you already had it. You and the rotator made it look easy.
