The level design and aestethic really remind me of the original Rayman.

Rayman was set in a dream world, and had a lot of pencils, so it makes sense.

There's a version of this on psp as well so that's also an option.

PSP version's physics was criticized a lot upon release. It's just.. different. and I've also heard that there are bugs. DS version is better. It also has a few extra unlockable levels.
