Fantastic review Brad. I too have been quite impressed with the U7H. Certainly there are better TV's but the price / performance value is really hard to beat.

Your production value has always been stellar. But man, you are SERIOUSLY putting in some effort to step up your video quality. Absolutely jealous of your filming and editing. I have so much to learn.

I'm glad you and youthman have reviewed this! I'm going up to a 85 soon from 70 and realized how little I knew about tvs and what to look for. Now I'm stuck between this and lg's qned 85 inch.

Excellent video (as always)👍 I'm very inclined to buy the 85" U7H soon. To me the balance between a bright pic and contrast is important since the TV will be in a very bright room.

Loved the review, very thorough and easy to understand. I bought the U8H based on reviews and absolutely loved the image quality. Unfortunately there was a lip sync issue when using by SONOS arc that I could never resolve. No issue when connected to my TCL Soundbar. Hisense stated they were aware of the issue but didn’t have a fix yet. So I returned and got a Sony x90k, which had poorer picture but no audio issue. Hopefully Hisense has fixed the audio issue with the new models.

I really struggled going from a plasma to a LED, thought I would be underwhelmed but couldn't afford $4k for a OLED. I recently bought my 85U7H to replace an older 65" panasonic plasma TV. Right out of the box, I was not super impressed. Major soap opera effects and weird image issues. Took quite a bit of fiddling around to get the picture where I wanted it. I am also not super impressed with the setpoint menu/system. Depending on the source the settings change. However, that said, we mostly use this for movie watching from a 4k player. I have to say, the display looks great! I will agree that the positives far outweigh the negatives. One other benefit, I got the 85" version from Walmart for $1499. Best bang for the buck out there. Honestly, a steal of a price in my book for what you get.

Thank you for the review! I'm also interested in this TV as a PC monitor. I've heard other people say that when "text clarity" is turned on, the picture becomes dim and washed out and HDR performance is impacted. They also complained of black smearing or ghosting when scrolling text on the screen. Also banding issues due to the panel being 8 bit vs 10 bit. Did you experience any of these?

Brad, Please correct me if I am wrong like I usually am. Watching your review made me think that the owner of a new TV has to go into the menu and change the picture setting for every change of media format. Is this correct? Either way, I wish I had the income to be able to afford the 75" version of this TV. Thanks for your work and please the vid coming. I always enjoy your efforts. All the very best to you and yours, Kevin

Will they sell same TVs in Europe and USA in the 2023 or we'll receive the same low performance models that we received the last years?

U7K out this year, wait for that one. the end.
@HomeTheaterGamer Жыл бұрын
The U7K definitely won’t be in the same price bracket as the U7H, so definitely not “the end” if you’re on a budget and/or want something right now.

@@HomeTheaterGamer I will take that bet brad :-) it wont be mnch higher.. will be close to same price as this one was upon arrival last year

Totally up to you. I love my 77 inch LG C1, but if I had to choose between a 48 inch OLED display or a decent 85 inch LED display, I’d want the bigger screen.

@@HomeTheaterGamer How do you clean tv that big
@HomeTheaterGamer Жыл бұрын
I just use a large microfiber cloth I got off of Amazon. Typically you don't need to use any liquid if the the only thing on the screen is dust. If you have kids or have moved the set and have some stubborn fingerprints that just won't come off with the microfiber cloth alone, some distilled water in a small spray bottle works like a charm. Just don't spray it directly on the screen and you should be good.
