I'm still using my Zappiti and I just bought a Orico 5 bay raid hard drive or NAS. I'm using all 5 bays and have about 91TBs of hard drive not counting the 16TB drive in the Zappiti. Only bad thing is if it sits to long, it will go to sleep and I have to restart the Zappiti to wake it up.

Good morning, Thank you for this video. I have a question, I saw that you connected your Umik Microphone directly to your Amplifier. How did you connect it? Shouldn't you normally plug the microphone directly into the computer?

Can you explain how get dolby atmos with a PC, video card, and this OREI device?

Hey Brad, thanks for the video. I’m a getting a pair of SB-1000 pro and I’m wondering whether a mini dsp would be needed or I could make due with the 3-band PEQ on the pros. Point being you wouldn’t normally EQ down more than 3 bands for flatten a sub response so it feels like getting a DSP would be overkill. Essentially, from my perspective, either I get two non-pros + mini dsp or two pros. Would you agree? Thank you !

Another solid location for rats is the cave under the Elyssium Falls. Just go to the big cave section (which has sunlight and is pretty big. Cant miss it). There you can collect perfect rat and bat carcasses

I'm confused as hell with the switching between the internal AV test tone and the pink noise from REW. Why are you doing that and what is being adjust when switching berween the two tones? I just understood level matching is to have an SPL meter, run internal AV test tone for each speaker and increase individual speakers to achieve 75dB at zero master volume.
@HomeTheaterGamer
@HomeTheaterGamer 6 күн бұрын
The reason for using the REW pink noise is because the internal test tones of your receiver bypass any room EQ (like Audyssey or Dirac), which basically makes level matching using the internal tones not too accurate if your already run room correction. However, for height channels there weren’t really any options at the time for level matching, so I suggested using the internal tones for the height channels ONLY. Things have changed a bit since then (this video was released in September of 2021 after all), so I’m planning on doing an updated guide going into 2025.

Thanks Brad... So any adjustments to the individual speakers is done whilst playing the pink noise from REW and ignore the results from the internal test tones if my system has had room correction applied? Cheers

Been using Nvidia Shield TV Pro for years with Emby and Jellyfin from Linux server connected to Truenas Core NAS, never had problems with stutter. Loads really fast 4K TrueHD atmos or whatever i throw at it. Also does upscaling really well. What i´d like to know if the image quality is any better.

A question: great video, very informative, thanks, but I still can't connect DiracLiveProcessor to my HiFi system in a pure stereo setup without a Dirac device in my forementioned HiFi system. I can see a 'Dirac Virtual Audio Device' setting in my iMac Audio/Midi application, but don't know how to use it in conjunction with my HiFi system, or should I connect my DAC with a USB cable I don't prefer? Normally I play music through Audirvana by UPnP to my Lindemann audio bridge 2 and from there to my DAC.

It’s easier to understand when someone knows what that all means and what the graph means as well. I am totally ignorant when it comes to sub correction. Also how to even use the REW. Is there a simple to understand video that explains the how’s and what is of it all. I understand that REW is an app , but it’s rocket science to me at this time. 😢 I’m sure those that speak subwoofer talk can easily relate to you , but I didn’t understand a thing , not your fault, just my need for some subwoofer knowledge..🫣

I had assumed changing speaker distances changed the timing of when a certain channel is played to attempt to get the sound to arrive at the listening position at the same time, is that not the case? If not does it just change the output level of that channel so a further speaker is heard as loud as a closer speaker? Not seeing how changing distances in the AVR changes frequency response
@HomeTheaterGamer
@HomeTheaterGamer 15 күн бұрын
For speaker distances you are correct, however for subwoofer distance it’s a bit different due to the nature of low frequencies. Adjusting the subwoofer distance is akin to a time alignment setting that adjusts how close it arrives with the main speakers. In most cases the actual physical distance of the sub doesn’t really matter, it’s how early or late it arrives in relation to the main speakers.

Do you really need THAT much dynamic range for sub? I was always under the impression that the thx standard is +30 db at reference for sub channel. So if you listen at 85 db, you should ideally have 115 db output capability down to 20hz. (Which is A LOT) But most people do not listen at reference. A lot of people watch movies at -10 and (with a 75db average listening level). In this scenario the sub should only need to go to 105db at 20hz to be playing the full signal. Of course, room size, listening distance etc plays a role in this. But your numbers seem a bit exaggerated. Or am I wrong?

why are you crossing over at 80hz instead of higher? I believe these subs (I got the same one) roll off closer to 200+Hz... I just got a second sub (SVS SB2K) and I'm running my PB in sealed mode as it's less boomy overall in my basement..

I thought my new SVS app would use my iPhone mic to analyze my room acoustics! Boy was I wrong. Any tutorials on how to calveate my sub to my room using REW? I’m not familiar with REW so guess I’m looking for a consolidated turorial. Any suggestions? I use a Marantz Stereo 70s which came with a mic, but has nowhere to plug it. I do have the Audyssey phone app. Can I use that to set my SVS app?
