Wow, I love this!! I kid you not, if I was a guy I would do this for a living. It's both beautiful and cathartic. In my last comment I mentioned my uncle did masonry work. My father was a builder and both were trained in Germany. Their work was very high quality and so is yours. Thanks again. Just subscribed. I should be starting my stonewall this fall. And yes, I'm doing it myself. I have a feeling once I get the hang of it I'll find more stone projects to keep me busy.

Great work. From what I gather from traditional dry stonewallers in the UK… massive flaw here is the lack of topping or coping stones (or both). The topmost run isn’t locked in by anything above it and the exposed hearting will wear and displace due to time, water and by prying hands. Not to mention the rain/snow will get into the core of the wall more easily without a cover and causing failure with the freeze/thaw cycle.

This is so good. Wonder why you didn’t dig ground a bit for the big stones to go partly in. I guess the soil you plan will cover parts of it.
