Join me for a great hunt on the Isle of Sheppey. I find a couple of lovely fossils, my first ones from this location.

Heading to sheppey tomorrow 😉 just doing my research you know. That otodus tooth was spectacular! We have been searching Herne bay the past couple days of our holiday with some nice little finds, my first time being this far south of Britain quite lucky my in-laws live in Ramsgate now so plenty to do whilst visiting. Anyway thanks for sharing and you definitely have my subscription 👍😎

Hi, awesome finds. May i ask the sharks teeth are these normal found a little furter past the pillboxes if so how far further roughly. Thanks

Usually the better finds are further round. Couldn't say exactly how far but maybe half an hours walk. Just keep checking the slipped clay and the shingle. The longer I hunt the luckier I get! Good luck!

Hi Mark, you can access this beach at both ends, Warden Point and Minster. Once on the beach turn left and right respectively. It's quite a long walk from either end and please be careful of the cliffs as they are very unstable. At this time of year it will be VERY muddy so be aware of that. I've had better luck starting at the Warden end but I've only been half a dozen times over the years. Also check the tides and hunt on a falling tide as you can get cut off there if you are not careful! PSAs aside, Good luck and happy hunting!

Do you reckon you can find otodus teeth that size down lee on solent?
@luckystones22913 жыл бұрын
you can get Jaekelotodus teeth at Lee, similar species but often smaller. I've had one half decent one from Lee.

I got a question I've been to warden bay? How do you get to this place from there?
@luckystones22913 жыл бұрын
From the car park down to the beach and turn left. It's a bit of a walk and very muddy at this time of year. Past the sea defenses and round the corner past the fallen buildings is where I have had the best hunting.

Oh ok thanks so you just go down the beach is that what your saying or there is just a path where the car park is

Hello lucky stones today I have been to this exact same location and turns out we really could not find this bit I went past 5-6 broken buildings and still nothing there no teeth no ray plates no big shark teeth no Gastropods after 30 mins hunting we were also looking while we were waking there still nothing however on the way back past some of the broken buildings I found one shark tooth thanks maybe you can add where in isle of Sheppie and how you get to it
@luckystones22913 жыл бұрын
once you get past the buildings on the beach the fossiling improves. No guarantees for finds, but it sounds like you are in the right place. Good luck.

Im heading back there tomorrow to see a couple of friends for the first time in ages. Some fossil hunting may occur. Will put together a new video, hoping for a couple of nice finds! The erosion is extensive, I'm interested to see how the cliffs have changed in the last 12 months
