I purchased a tank, just like the one you have, however, a different brand. The structure at the base, where the axles connect to the main tank after only using the tank one time begin cracking and leaked all of my fuel out. The tank appeared to be very sturdy and thick, and I was very surprised to see that problem. I’d like to see an update on that tank to see how it’s holding up especially in that particular area. Thanks and good luck.

Polyethylene portable containers for gasoline are to be placed on the ground when filling to dissapate any static charge which could spark and ignite the fuel. That pretty much makes it difficult to reload back into your truck.

Diesel won’t ignite from static charge.

Only possible with gas not diesel and at that only with a cheap plastic bed liner in the truck, those aren’t even common anymore.

I bought a food grade 275gal tote a 12-volt transfer pump with a 15 ft hose and nozzle and a good 12-volt battery along with a nice Solar charger. Then I have my local fuel guy fill it with off-road diesel for a bulk price and my whole setup cost me less than that caddy price of $312.00. I have a $180.35 invested in my setup

I like the slightly bigger brother that is 58gal. It can be lifted out of the truck with pallet forks directly.

The Vevor unit has proven to be reliable, another KZbinr has had the same unit for about 2 years and just used it in his last video to add 30 gallons of diesel into his combine, to assure he got the machine home.

Neat idea JD. Have you thought about getting a small fuel barrel such as a 250gal? Then you could have a local co-op come out and fill it for you. Just a thought. Take care!
@BigTruckBigRV10 ай бұрын
Local fuel companies require 500gal or more. I don't need that much lol
@ipcamper994010 ай бұрын
Well, you could just keep your old F450 and put a fuel transfer tank in the bed. The fuel caddy looks like a workable solution. 👍

I just picked up 5x 15gal barrels. Rinsed em and can fill with anything I want. They're just over 100lbs full. But have multiple now. They were used and $5 from a dairy farm. They also had 55gal barrels but they're really heavy to move full. Those are usually $10-15. Then just use a transfer pump.

For frequently less than $400 there's also used Aux tanks for trucks all over FB Marketplace of varying sizes.

I'm looking forward to some more review on these after you use them for a bit. Seems to be a handy way to do it.

Sooooper cooool product JD!!! I’m sure that will serve you well with all the equipment you have in the garage. 2 major points of concern on this. 1 - I do NOT see a place for a coffee pot!!! 2 - I think with this thing loaded with 32 gallons of diesel, you are in dually territory!!! Gonna need and extra set of tires on that rig!! 👍😂🍻

Needs a way to store the power cord on the side or front too. handle needs to be stronger so it can be lifted with a tractor out of a truck bed. Lifting it manually from truck bed while full is going to be a no go. It could use lifting arms on the side so the forks on the tractors could be slid inwards. that way, the forks lift on each side of the tank. But may be better for a metal tank. Would love to have one, but I don't have a tractor.

I have used a similar caddy for Avgas but it was gravity feed only. Still very convenient for de-fueling and refueling.

I have been looking at similar products for our property. The larger version that is meant to be loaded and unloaded with forks is more what I had in mind. I’ve heard good and bad about Vevor, so I’m interested to see how this goes.

How do you plan on grounding it to get rid of the static charge from transferring fuel.there have been many truck fires from fueling can in the back of a pickup . Some stations shut off the fuel. Just asking I am looking at the 14 gallon fuel tank for myself but concerned. Thanks good videos

Jmesales has some cool suffrage tanks with pumps as well as Vevor since you have seen their channel. All good solutions from the 5 gallon jug. Both composure have pallet lift solutions for fuel.

Not sure if they still offer it but my grandfather used to have tanks on the farm that the fuel company would fill or top off once a month or so and the we would fill whatever implement or vehicle from those tanks...would that be an option for you?
@stacyreid507710 ай бұрын
That’s fine for some people but for $400 you can buy a used metal diesel tank that will hold about 50-100gal of fuel then go to HF and get the electric fuel pump

In Australia we have big plastic black tanks in back off the utes with pumps connected to refill our machinery they hold around 200litres , and red portable cans for petrol that we hardly need because every things on diesel in Australia now also if its 2stroke fuel its in a green container , bloody simple mate no idiot can get that wrong 😊

Those low flow nozzles don’t have auto shut-off features. Watch what you are filling or it will make a mess.

I know that you need content for the channel, and I don’t know how much fuel you go through in a years time; but couldn’t you have a diesel fuel truck come out to your place and fill up a gravity fuel tank for the season? Then you just drive up and fuel. If you need some in a can, then you fill up the can. Seems easier to me. You won’t have to go the gas station with all of those cans that way. Just an idea.
@BigTruckBigRV10 ай бұрын
I don't go through enough diesel to justify the cost. Most have a minimum of 500gal. I wouldn't use that much fuel in a year. These work well for my needs.
