Kurt is a member of the so called "27 club," rock stars that all died at that age. Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison (The Doors), Brian Jones (The Rolling Stones), and in other genres Amy Winehouse, Robert Johnson (1930's blues singer/guitarist).

I've become a KC fan over the years. He was an explosive performer with an open mind (ear). He was inspired by the Pixies, Melvins, Husker Du, Vaselines, Raincoats, Devo, Black Flag, REM, Slits, Public Enemy, Daniel Johnston... Also he was one of the few male rockers to speak against sexism and homophobia etc.

Have you ever heard of this little band named Foo Fighters 😅 Dave Grohl Drums and Pat Smear back up guitar are in Foos. And Krist Novoselic bass is in a band called 3rd secret . Cool reaction guys ✌🏾

Hadn't played Lithium in years but when this kicked on, I picked up a guitar and jumped right in. It is a really fun and easy song to play. Chords repeat and it drones on as you pick individual notes until you step on the RAT pedal and all of those subtle melodies roar in chunky distorted power chords. Check out the song "Breed."

The meanings behind Kurt’s lyrics are amazing and sometimes highly disturbing. You have this song about a man turning to religion to try to avoid “unaliving” himself. And then there’s something like Polly which still gives me chills and I won’t go into the story but if you’re not familiar it’s worth a listen.

This song makes me jump up and hate the world; I remember the smoke break at the Yongsan, South Korean Garrison, when I was in the U.S. Army, I heard Kurt topped himself. Like any other national tragedy. Cheers,
