This is such a powerful anthem and I love the way the song is like split into two halves. The ending chorus and choir like singing is very powerful. Also the Ralf's voice is very good along with those guitars during the middle just makes the song. Thanks for sharing have a lovely day.

This song and whole album I used to listen to every day 31 years ago when I was still in school. Yet when I heard my favourite power metal ballad from that year, I feel as if it was yesterday. Kay Hansen (Ex-Helloween) founded this band with guys who were all familiar with Helloween. So their style was similar in some ways as for speed and melodies. Yet they created their own sound that I was able to recognize instantly. From the same album check out Heading for tomorrow (14:50min long) also "Money", "Free Time" and "Hold Your Ground". This album for me it's still my favourite from Gamma Ray but the others you also need to check out. I have 8 Studio Albums and 3 live double albums and Live DVD's of them. Helloween are a bit more known in the American metal community since they have done many tours before Gamma Ray was established. I've been a Kai Hansen fan since the Helloween days. I like the time signature changes. The drop into 6/8 for example. There's some good live versions of this with Kai on vocals. Years ago when my daughter was learning piano I got her into this song!

"power metal vibe" Um... Kai Hansen (lead guitarist) is considered one of the fathers of Power Metal... My three favorite bands are Helloween, Gamma Ray, and Primal Fear (vocalist on this song left GR to audition for Judas Priest and ended up founding Primal Fear.) This album and Sigh No More were great examples of Ralf's voice, but he gets better. You should check out a newer Primal Fear song like The End is Near to see how Ralf has matured, though I'd personally recommend anything off Jaws of Death or Nuclear Fire. Plus, Gamma Ray morphed after Ralf left, so check out Beyond the Black Hole (or the title track) from Somewhere out in Space or Armageddon from Power Plant, or even Dethrone Tyranny off No World Order

Great video. Gamma Ray is one of my favourite bands. The harmonies and melodies and fast pace and dramatic like Queen. What's not to love. Wish modern music followed this path, now its fading away. I did love the new Helloween album though, especially the song Fear of the Fallen. Kai Hansen is back in the band. Sadly I think that means Gamma Ray is on hiatus.

Helloween was Heavy Metal but they influensed the so called Power Metal (Heavy Metal in eights, lots of tempo changes and often some kind of fantasy storytelling). Kai Hansen is my favorite then it comes to changes in melody and tempo it's always so smothe and natural. Kai started Gamma Ray after he and Kiske left Helloween. Ralf Scheepers in this albums reminds me a lot of Michael Kiskes singing.

Early Gamma Ray is rough... I really can't get into any of the stuff sung by Ralf. The rerecorded versions of Last Before the Storm and One With the World with Kai singing are awesome, but other than that I don't like anything prior to Land of the Free. After that though, soooo much good stuff. Send Me a Sign is the song that got me hooked on power metal. Rebellion in Dreamland is a must hear as well.

@@dolken1983 I had a listen. It's good but I think I prefer the original. Maybe if the Kai version was out first then I'd prefer that but I'm just so used to the original. Appreciate the suggestion tho. I'm a big fan of Kai since he was with Helloween

@@taddei3912 well yea both are "original" but I think Kai has more different levels in his voice he is like metals answer to freddy mercury. you should try out last before the storm, and lake of tears, man on a mission , the saviour, rebellion in dream land , heart of the unicorn, and induction (intro) then Dethrone tyranny.
