+alpalJL I know, right?! Apparently there were 80 lanes when the facility opened. But due to a design flaw, they had to get rid of two lanes to create the center aisle for the bowlers to come out through... and it's not in the center either, which triggers my OCD.

Dude, I feel. I hate when stuff isn't aligned properly. I take it your mind works like a grid system. Mine does. :) Center aisle is cool though.

This facility was opened in 1995 by RSCVA in conjunction with the Silver Legacy in an effort to pump new life into downtown Reno. The NBS is a dedicated tournament facility; that is to say you cannot just walk in and go open bowling. They have long term contracts with USBC Open Championships, USBC Women's Championships, USBC Masters, and other tournaments that will keep people (and money) flowing through Reno for many years to come. Orlando also attempted to build a similar facility but financing did not pan out. The only other similar facility is the brand new South Point Bowling Plaza in Las Vegas. During non Reno/Vegas years, the larger tournaments compete on specially constructed temporary lanes built out inside a convention center/arena.

NationalElevator Actually, that was a convention for my work. Over the years, I attended that convention in Orlando, Nashville, Chicago, and Las Vegas multiple times to name a few. San Francisco Hilton & Towers (was old-school name when we had the convention there) was the only one where all the heavy crap for the trade show had to be lifted 3 floors up. To be honest, I didn't do much exploring that trip as my boss and I were either in class, at the trade show, or on a bender for a week straight (D'oh!! not proud...). I knew there had to be some sort of lift. When I finally saw your video, I was amazed just how enormous that elevator really was.

For 6 floors, those elevators certainly pack a punch, speed-wise. Did this place have that musty smell found at most bowling alleys? :P

Nope not even 7 yrs. After this comment...I work at one of the stores inside and smells nice ..no smoking allowed so it's a breathe of fresh air....😉

I really love Tournament Bowling Centers a lot than Family Entertainment or Boutique Bowling Centers, those type of Centers are a bunch of cash grabbing for League Bowlers.
