Hello Ladies & Gentlemen and as always, thank you for watching!! I hope my viewers are enjoying the new 4K videos!!! Yes, I said and AWESOME Swift driver. The driver followed her GPS and failed to turn around in a now, water-filled field after a lot of heavy rains. However, after Ethan and I use our Peterbilt 389X with a Miller Industries Century 1150R rotator towing and recovery unit to winch her out of the field and onto the road, the driver has to back up (reverse) with a truck and a loaded, 53' long van trailer, in the dark, around curves, over an incline, for over one mile or 1.6 kilometers!!!! And she does it like a PRO!!! I know Swift has a bad reputation for getting into some "difficult" situations, but you must remember that they are one of the largest trucking companies in the U.S., so people are going to see more of their trucks. Anyway, this driver was amazing, both with her attitude and her skill. Yes, she made a misjudgement when she tried to turn around in the field. We ALL make mistakes. I know I have. But she proved herself to me when she backed that combination up more than a mile and only had to pull forward once. That was impressive. Please be kind in your comments. Like I said, we all make mistakes. Try to see the positive side of the driver in this video, as I did. I hope you all enjoy this video!!! Thanks for watching and God bless!!!

As a professional truck driver of over 30 years I can say this. Every company has a few drivers that are pay check seakers Most are really good but it only takes one bad person to give a company a bad name. I’ve seen a lot of them, Swift included but also seen some excellent Swift drivers too! Lady Swift driver I give you 👍👍in a really tough spot and being stressed to start with. Hold your head high. Thanks Ron and Ethen for being so kind, gentle and professional 👍👍

I agree with you by the stats, the bigger is the fleet, the greater the likelihood of accidents and the worse the media visibility is, it only takes one person to stain a corporate image when some shit happens ...So I don't believe Swift is the worst transportation company in the industry. Whatever the logo on the door, the more skilled/over confident the drivers can be, the most serious the accident can be.... My belive.

I understand what you're saying, I think the problem with Swift is the same as here in Canada with Bison, they are so desperate to find drivers they hire everyone that can hold on to a steering wheel and 99% have no clue what it actually is they are moving down the road and that's scary as hell

Yet again, Ron , you demonstrate what a great gent you are. No sarcasm, no criticism, no snide remarks. Just doing a professional job with Ethan, successfully rescuing a lady driver in distress. She must have been very frightened, stuck in the mud, in the dark down a small road etc, but MWT came to the rescue!! Without a doubt, Ron, you are a modest and brilliant operator. Thanks for showing It to us . Best Wishes Roy W UK

BTW, for those of you who are not truck drivers: Keep in mind, we don't have backup lights on our trailers and it's about 65' from the driver to the back of the trailer. She was backing on a pitch black road with the lights from her trailer hazard lights. As far as I'm concerned, this was a HUGE WIN for her. She likely did little to no damage to the truck. She incurred a tow bill, but hey I bet Swift has those every day from messed up emissions systems. She learned a huge lesson without damaging the equipment or anyone getting hurt. About getting stuck: We go in all kinds of places we have never been before and it is especially hard to get the rig turned around on a pitch black night in the middle of nowhere. Incorrect GPS or not, it's EASY to miss one turn and end up on a road that you're not supposed to be on with no way to turn around.

Yep. Just another day for Swift's "paper pushers." (probably all done on computer, now.) Brief report from the driver, get Ron's bill, perhaps some questioning to make sure everything matches and cut a check. CDB.

I'm surprised Ron accepted Swift's call. Every time I ended up towing them, it was a whole ordeal for my dispatcher because Swift does this bullshit where they call EVERYONE in a given area, tries to lowball each and every last one of them, and then ends up playing blind darts to decide which quote they're going to accept

You hit the nail right on the head, Ron. She did so well when you consider how the emotions from getting her unit stuck and having to call out for help, the cost to her company, the ribbing she' going to get, embarrassment, the residual adrenaline, and all the other thoughts and worries going through her head, she kept her cool and backed up about a mile in the dark with only one correction. I've been in a similar situation at about her age and it was very hard to focus. Kudos to you for how you were supportive and helpful and reassuring as you talked her through the recovery. Job well done all around. ✞

It’s quite a coincidence seeing this after I watched a video between the president of Knight/Swift and MuthaTrucker. In it the president recounted the steps of how they improved their safety program. He also told of how their safety ratings went from the bottom percentile to near the top rated. With their trucks driving nearly four million miles/day I guess that’s why the previous poor record lingers on. With so many of their trucks out there any accidents perpetuate the former reputation. That’s indeed quite the accomplishment backing that far in the dark. Wanted to share this to give their drivers the benefit of the doubt instead of perpetuating old events. Thanks for providing the driver support through it Ron.🙏👍Stay safe out there.

However, this just speaks of (their) mindset. I still make wrong turns to this day. When I became a trainer I wouldn't let my trainees use a GPS until they demonstrated competence with a paper map and good trip planning. Nowadays on the rare occasion I take a trip I still start my planning with a paper map and a notepad to write down exit numbers and turns.

She did a very good job backing up the rig. Especially with a 53' trailer. We Truck drivers do the best we can. Just some drivers give us good drivers a bad name or a bad wrap. I'm not driving trucks anymore because of health issues. I miss the road. I miss driving. She is one of the best drivers for a female driving a truck I have ever seen. That was awesome what she did. Ron God bless you and your family 🙏🙏 and your business. I have to say that my favorite truck is Tator. Nice truck.

In my 44 years in the transport industry, some of the best drivers I’ve come across have been women. Women will tell you what the problem is without attempting to do the diagnostics as well, as soon as they think they have a problem they will ur on the side of caution and stop instead of driving there vehicle to destruction. 👍🇺🇸🇬🇧

Kudos to the lady trucker! (All truckers if I’m honest!) I can’t even back very far on Truck Simulator without ending up paying $$$ to the Simulator repair shop!!!

I have been on both sides of this kind of situation and it really doesn't matter how any driver ends up in a place where they need help , this is a hard lesson for the driver and one she will never forget, so for the ones who think this is funny I say your turn is coming, Ron is the kind of man who is very professional in his job , he can be the person that you can learn from. Have passion for everyone out on the road, perhaps we will in the long run see less of these kind of problems, Have a great day everyone

Another Fantastic Video Ron and Crew. And also as you said the driver did a great job. Much respect to her. I know alot of drivers that wouldn't of been able to back up in that fashion.

I just started watching your channel and I’ve always had a great respect for you guys but watching you doing your job and the people driving by not caring how fast they go by just drives me crazy. You should take those people and make them stand by the side of the highway for awhile and let them find out what it’s like. You guys are amazing!!

Thank you for being kind to this (and all) drivers. I have been in this kind of sit when the "help" was not as "helpful". A 53 in the dark is not especially fun nor safe. GOD bless and yes, this lady was doing a great job for sure.

She did do great, better than some men could do. I won't fault her for her mistake getting stuck, we all make mistakes starting out. I know i made mistakes over 32 years ago, when i first started driving. One little piece of advice to anyone starting out in the business of driving a truck. A little trick an "old timer" taught me 32 years ago, when backing at night & if it's not lit up, open the drivers side window, take your flashlight & shine it at a downward angle INTO the mirror. Don't shine it straight in, it has to be at a downward angle, so it doesn't blind you. You will be surprised how much it lights up behind the trailer. I sometimes had to backup long distances at night when no one was around, i used that trick many many times over the years!

Poor baby! I used to drive parts for a living with a cargo van and sometimes a 21 foot trailer. I've been in quite a few situations myself, so I can imagine how stressed she was! However, I imagine a good deal of her stress was relieved by you and Ethan's gentle treatment of her. Kudos to everybody!!
