Awesome Toy Conversion: Craft Miniature Barrels for a Kegasaurus!! for Dungeons and Dragons

Welcome to another Franky D. Crafter episode. I ran a poll on patreon to decide what my next Dino mod would be. I drew up three concepts using three different dinosaurs toys I had. All with different themes. I didn’t know my supporters missed the bars this much. We are making a kegasaurous on this episode. You can also think of this episode as how to craft miniature whiskey barrels or beer barrels. If you want to get more involved on the direction of the channel you should consider becoming a patreon. I figured I want to make sure it fits the mood of the setting I place this creature in. I knew it to be something you encountered in a forest. Almost like an outdoor tavern. I kept asking myself why would this need to be transported in this manner. I started talking to some of my patrons and realized this whole concept demanded a complete back story. In what world would this concept make sense? And this is why I love dnd.
I had a blast modifying this dinosaur. I feel like the concept was a good combination of something fun and something practical. I also like how I can just put chest on top of kegasaurus. The other great thing that came out of this is that while thinking of a story, I ended up crafting a campfire and a trunk bar top. Plus now I have a good idea for a game I want to run with my players next time I see my friends.

I love this build, I have always loved dinosaurs even as a child and now my love of D&D can come together, I live in Australia and happen to find this exact Dino toy as well as some others at my local dollar store. Awesome idea for a character and area for any setting, and forget about any misgivings on the painting in the wood grain on the barrels, you've got the skill to make it look good. If you expand that Cursed Wood idea more than you what you have in the vid, by all means do up a Lore vid. (y)

The part i really loved was the orange tips on the yellow back plates taking the colour scheme from green to yellow and then into the orange. So good! I really love painting this way on my own models.

Really liked seeing your use of air dry clay. I recently picked up a brick of DAS and figuring out how to use it. Never thought about using clay for the barrels. May have to do that now! The paint job on the dinosaur was top notch and love the story you all came up with for it.

Thank you! Air dry clay is a bit hit or miss at times. But it’s still one of my favorite materials.

What an awesome build Franky! I’ve always entertain the idea of using dinosaurs for transports and mounts… Where did you happen to find this particular stegosaurus? I like the fact that it’s tail is raised higher than its front shoulders.

That's not a stegasaurus, it's a Kentrosaurus.
