I've had mine for around 8 months and I do agree with your peeves. Wish they'd made the crystal flat and put clear AR coating on it, instead of blue/purple. Also wish they'd make it a little bit thinner overall. I got the MM200 GMT too though and agree that it is probably the ultimate Seiko, if you can only have one.

My favorite 2024 is the Prospex Limited Edition 1965 Recreation European Exclusive in Gradation Island Blue. The dial is stunning and the contrast when on a white strap is to die for. I will get my hands on one from AMZWATCH

Pretty awesome looking watch and it's nice to see that old alpinist bracelets are compatible. I don't hate domed crystals as much as you lol but the "domed" crystal here really does seem pointless when they could have listed a thinner height

They used the same style of crystal on the urushi dial Seiko Sarx029, which drove me crazy. Why have a beautiful and handmade inky black dial, only to obscure it with a domed sapphire crystal?

I own 7 Seiko’s and none of them are an Alpinist. I could never get into that watch for some reason. It’s a nice watch though.

I only have 3 Seikos and I agree. Something about the Alpinist just never sat well with me. The time only is ok I just can’t get over it being 13mm thick

Nicely done. I passed this one up for the thickness as well the 4:30 date. This is an absurd design decision still for me. It is a beautiful piece but i still prefer the 16570

Thanks! Yeah the 430 date will continue to be love hate design choice I can see why people hate it though. I love 430 dates but ONLY when it's well executed. The 16570 will always be a classic, can't go wrong with that one!

swap the caseback to solid one , saves you 1.2MM in thickness . case backs off the Seiko Solar daytona fit as well as Alpinist solid case backs . quick cheap fix

I have “real” watches and a lot of them. I have a friend who buys the MAMACOO we put them side by side and guess what ?! It’s unbelievable!!! I am at the Rolex boutique with her and no one can tell he has a fake
