i have spent 150 hours playing TFD and i can tell u that farming normal charcetrs takes max 3-4 hours and then just waiting till they finish crafting, the only grind is on the optional Ult characetrs wich can take from 20-40 hours to farm but its not as bad as he makes it out to be.

Here's a little tip for the grind, if your looking for a specific material stop tracking it. There's some bs going on with the drop rates, so if you're looking for a specific descendant material with 20% drop rate and you're just not getting it, untrack it, it will drop within the next 2 or 3 runs, possibly in the very next one.

The grind isn't too bad for most descendants. I have 6 characters right now and I've played the game for under 150 hours total. I haven't been grinding for the characters all that time either. Mostly for weapons, catalyst, and energy activators. You'll occasionally hit a wall on one singular component with a really low drop rate, but if you just not give up on it you'll be glad you stayed with it.

I feel like this is slightly misleading. The game has some pretty easy characters to unlock that do not take 100’s of hours to get. In fact majority of the characters are not extraordinarily difficult to unlock. The ones that take a ridiculous amount of time are the ultimates which you don’t even need. It’s a great game that’s completely free and I recommend if you’re thinking about playing, just get it and try it out. If you do end up liking it my biggest recommendation is to not rush the story. I took it very slow and did some pre grinding and it saved me tons of time and really helped extend the story’s life while keeping me engaged.

I just started playing a few days ago. Besides my starter, Lepic, I got Bunny through the side quest that’s given to you. Then I got the side quest for Freyna & got 3 out of the 4 parts I need. For the last one, which supposedly has a 20% drop rate, I have done the Shelter mission more than 20 times and it still hasn’t dropped… I have spent a quarter of my total playtime doing this & besides being ridiculous it’s a complete turn off.

New update added limits for drop rates. This way if you are grinding for something specific, after so many attempts you’re guaranteed the item. That helps a lot and I’ll admit I like how most things you farm for, it tells you where to get them. Still a grind but most micro transaction issues is with end game material. Only been out a month so it still has promise.

I don’t really care about the drop rates of items, I care more about being able to get to even have that opportunity. The outpost/fragments/reactors are an absolute headache. Especially collecting enough shards to get access to the reactors. That needs to be taken out completely otherwise the spawn rates during fragments need to happen all at once.

this games grind actually pays off.. after 300 hours i am still loving it.. lots of different types of missions to run, the hardest grind was actually made so easy now... any warframe player will succeed easily here..

@@Hexzik the point of the video is that the issue with TFD is microtransaction being absurdly expensive. The comment above said “Just sound like warframe” which is false because Warframe microtransaction is nowhere near as predatory as in TDF and any player can earn platinum in Warframe by just playing the game. I never argued against the fact that TDF is almost identical to Warframe when you compare: descendants vs frames, modules vs mods, energy activators vs orokin catalyst, crystallization catalyst vs forma, mastery ranks, ect.

The modding for the game isn’t that great, the movement is worse, there is no trading, everything is overpriced and anti-consumer(you quite literally have to buy INDIVIDUAL colors). I’m having fun with the game, but I’m not going to sit here and lie, saying “it’s exactly like Warframe”

Warframe let's you actually progress games at a reasonable progression while nexon is known for giving rng boxes that often have INSANE gear or progression while it would take you minimum of years to afford off a whale who purchased said gear... The mixed reviews are from the TOS clauses primarily actually. Ppl misinterpreted the terms of service and thought they needed to provide gov issued ID’s to play bcuz in countries in Asia you must do so. You can still make OP builds and have fun with no micro transactions

Let me be that guy once. I work full time 10+ hours a day, come home to chores kids etc. Play like 4 hours a day, have 2 ultimate Descendants fully catalyst and activated with mods fully maxed. As well as unlocked most of the normal descendants all farming. Not a hard game to farm at all.

I’ve been playing for about 125 hours. I have 9 descendants and about to have my first ultimate. The only money spent was game pass “10 bucks” so yea grind. But focused grind gets you things pretty fast. Better than other games for sure. I should add that I have been through the main story.

Currently on 40 hours and have 5 characters with 2 more about to be finished whenever I get home. Barring the ultimate variants I got half the characters in less time then it would take me in overwatch 2. I think the main issue is that getting a character seems overwhelming at first and though possible to get them early game, the drop rates are terrible. You have to get further in the game to get good drop rates. So I think a lot of people are looking at the first boss only having a 6% drop rate for a character part and thinking that it’s only chance they have. I admit I was tempted to buy one character, but I just looked up a guide and was able to get them in just a day or two of play.

Bruh i met a guy the other day on this game that pretty much played this game for almost 200+hrs so far and has freaking built some of the most broken characters in this game. He’s put on all his friends onto this game and pretty much promoted it to the point where Nexon themselves gave him vouchers for the currency for reporting an inconvenience. I have no issues with the game. The shop makes up for the money where its free to play. Its only a problem is you are willing to buy. All games are grind and farm. If they weren't I will be able to obtain in one day. Then there will be nothing else to do.

From someone who played wareframe I can say this game doesn’t force you to grind half as much for new guns and characters. I’m sure if people are patient and don’t like the prices for transaction there should be sales that will allow to to get content at a discount just like warframe does. I spent 20 bucks on a free game and was able to get the battle pass that is a good value and have enough for a new character plus new body and head skin for my Ajax. Not a bad deal at all for free to play

Imo too the microtransaction are a tad on the expensive side for sure but at least I know what I am buying there is no random loot boxes or matcha mechanics. Also I think there are a lot of people out there that think a free game can’t have a way to make money, well they have to do something or the game won’t have the funding to move forward. I am sure the prices will come down some just like they did with Warframe, it will just take time for that to happen.

🍒 yknow, an easy way to revamp the paint system would be to make paints something to grind for, and with a relatively okay drop chance. like, if i wanted white paint i could go to a specific mission and farm for said paint with idk, like a 10% drop chance. that way getting the paint and customizing your character feels more rewarding. by doing so, you could keep the microtransactions in the game for people too lazy to farm and have some money left in their wallet, while also appealing to f2p players by giving them a way to grind the color they want. thats how monetization within a f2p game SHOULD be. like, "we have pretty grindey alternatives to getting the things you want, but these alternatives are NOT seemingly impossible, and we also have mictrotransactions that support us directly while giving you the things you want in return, grind-free."

The grind, even though it's a long one for Ultimate Descendants, is one of the best executed one. The loops are not perfect, but it is a targeted grind, meaning I know exactly WHAT to farm and WHERE to farm it and not be a slave to some global RNG bullshit and just hope that it drops and that's why I'm still playing it. I'm on my way to get Ultimate Bunny for free.
