Have a 2024 Switchblade. Such an insanely capable bike and climbs SO well! I absolutely LOVE that it doesn't have a glovebox!

Pivot bikes are truly unique in that they are sticking with PF-BB in order to get that wider BB aligned with the SuperBoost 157 rear end. Most likely adds something extra to the stability and probably a stronger rear wheel with less dish. Personally I owned Chris Cocalis’s first SwitchBlade when he owned Titus brand. Super nice guy that is truly invested in this sport. He even took customer service calls back in the day. Anyway I’m looking for your conclusion on all these bikes.
@moandhannahtravelАй бұрын
They also probably genuinely believe it’s better performance wise possibly? After talking with them and Chris I genuinely believe they do whatever they think will make the best mountain bike in their eyes which is awesome, rad to see the passion!! Thank you!!
@hardmtnbikerАй бұрын
@ Bernard Kerr, co-owner, Redbull Hardline winner and WC DH top contender seems to do pretty well with them. Knolly, Evil and DiVinci and a handful of other brands consider SuperBoost a better option. But it does make have multiple wheelsets for swapping out.

Very good review. Agree 100% with your report. Have had a V2 for 4 seasons. Never had a bike over 2! It’s that rad. We ride lots of desert. Moab, St. George mainly. The switchblade is so good for that. Great for Mtn riding too. One of my other bikes is a single speed so I love to stand and climb. The DW link will allow that for all day! It is a 160 mm bike that can play all day popping off blue trail features. I found the bottom of the rear 142 and blew the dpx2 out. The coil DHx2 fixed that. Feels great going big to flat. New V3 here next week!!! Keep up the good reviews. I ordered sentinel because I love my spur but had to rerun and stick w pivot because it’s just too damn good to risk. The spur is a mini switchblade fyi. Same geo and fucking rallies!!!

So many great bikes!!!

Pivot CS and build quality are great. I’d still own one if they had a 148 rear. I think as a plus seems like it gives a snappy ride relative to others in the group which is what I want in a trail bike.

That fox dropper is the old revision and needs to be sent back to have the internals swapped out with the updated parts. I have the same post and sent it back to fox 5 times (first 4 times it the post would be sticking again after 2 weeks), finally the last time they put the updated parts in for FREE and it has been flawless since. Going on 6+ months with no stick.

Thanks for the video. Most fun bike I have ever owned! What trail network are you on in your review?
@trentvlakАй бұрын
Thanks for the review. I've ridden all the bikes in their lineup except the new dh bike. They all pretty much ride the same. Frame construction is the some of the best in the industry and the cable routing with the huge ports is so nice. I have a couple Pivots, but I'm done with PF92 and I'm not going to start with SB157 so this bike isn't on my list. Shame.

They make awesome bikes for sure! Thanks for watching!

Great review Mo!! Does having a 175 mm crank arm helps you to climb better? Yeti or some other brands uses 170mm for pedal strikes but those can be avoided. So 175 mm vs 170mm ripmo both same suspension switchblade climbing better, ripmo more playfull bike.. Would you think the crank arm lenght may define bikes climbing capability? Thanks
@moandhannahtravelАй бұрын
Thank you!! And that is 100% a question for a bike fitter over me. Me personally, I have a high saddle height and the 175mm crank length helps me climbing and that’s what I prefer. But what works for me fit wise might not work for you! When it comes to anything pedaling related like saddle height and crank length I always recommend to see a bike fitter because an improper bike fit can lead to some health issues if you put a ton of time in the saddle! Hope that helps!!
@jgaytan91Ай бұрын
@ I used to have a bike with 175mm crank arm and now one with 170mm, yes the previous one had more xc geometry but for some reason i think the older one was better at climbing and if you think about it, more lenght gives you more torque or momentum idk 🤔 Plus I have long lengs so probably 175mm crank arms feels better same as you Anyways great video keep going, cant wait for the conclusion and see ripmo vs yeti vs switchblade

I’m 5’8” and went from 175 to 165 on my trail 429. Only regret is that I didn’t go to 160

If they offered this in alloy and 148, I probably would have bought it a few years ago. (Ended up going with Ibis instead.)
@TRUTHBMXracingАй бұрын
Definitely!, I love the way it rides. But I have a few custom wheel sets all in 148. If I have a problem or need to swap out tires for different terrain it's a simple switch. I don't need a bike that uses something entirely different. I too prefer aluminum frames. They also need to sell just frames.
@moandhannahtravelАй бұрын
An alloy switchblade would make for an epic desert bike!!

So I think we're only waiting for the review of the Giant Trance, right? Can't wait for the conclusion too. Have you all thought about doing a KZbin live where we could ask questions about your trail bike shoot out?

That is correct!! And we won’t do a livestream but we will do an ask us anything follow up video after the conclusion! Stay tuned!!

Hey Mo, do you know if Crankbros shoes run similar in size to Nike? Like if I’m a 9 will it be the same or should I go half size up or down? Thanks dude !

They fit very true to size but I do not know about Nike! I run my normal shoe size!

Another great review. Having demoed the same exact model Switchblade that you rode here, just last week, I can agree with all your findings. Absolutely fantastic bike! I think my one caveat was seat tube angle. It felt like it could've been a tad steeper to get that better "over the pedals" feel. I know you're a big STA guy too. What'd you think?
@moandhannahtravelАй бұрын
Such a good bike!! It is a little on the slacker side but their bikes tighten up when you start mashing which steepen the seat angle when you are pedaling slightly! It is a pretty rad feeling!
@trentvlakАй бұрын
I've ridden the Ibis bikes with the steeper sta. NO THANKS. too much pressure on the hands. Pivot did the sta right.
@MikeesTexasАй бұрын
I own 2 modern Ibis bikes, I’ve found that running a riser bar to take the pressure off your hands… I also love being able to tune the position of the riser bar fwd and back in order to find that sweet spot… ive been running an 80mm ride Deity alum bar…. #dakstack
@JCaleb3718Ай бұрын
@@MikeesTexas this makes a lot of sense. Thanks for the tip.
Because it’s a question, like “is this my favorite”?
@davewallace9048Ай бұрын
Pivot does make a good bike, but the 157 super boost is totally unnecessary. My heels hit the chain stay!! Also make it very hard to switch wheel sets between bikes
@DoubleNationАй бұрын
Never ever buy a Pivot you will be ruined for other bikes for the rest of your life :D Not to mention your empty wallet. Trust me, it started with just a Switchblade. Two years later I got myself a Firebird (not that it was necessary but 1+n bikes) and now I am thinking bout a shuttle or maybe a Trail429. My girlfriend went with a Shadowcat and also loves her bike.

@ I really would want this bike as it can be a mullet and is overall rad..but for a user though it sucks. Now I need to get a separate carbon wheelset and also a specific 27.5 SB wheel for park days.
