Better he serves badly now than in the latter matches

Give your thoughts on Jannik's performance in the 2nd round . Jannik just showed why he is equally great in defense and offense and how good he is at the net and a speed machine and so balanced in defense .

I am shocked Alcaraz lost this early in the tournament. Seems he's still affected by that defeat in the Gold medal match in Paris. He won French Open, then he won Wimbledon and played for Olympic Gold.This season was great for him until Olympic final.

Honestly, I was expecting that! Nole had some issues in the upper back prior to the first match + no serve rhythm and vs. Djere he had stomach issues. The last few years he almost always needed some matches to get to his level… Even with no serve he’s still good enough to beat two guys with no real danger… of course the circumstances against Djere were awful

Agreed. He really needs to raise his first serve percentage from under 50% to over 65%, and drop the number unforced errors and double faults significantly if he wants a chance of reaching the semis, let alone with the US Open.

All of us know that the aging Novak struggles or seems to struggle in the early rounds and many a times in the first sets. At times throughout the tournament like it happened in FO and AO a few years ago when he defeated Tsitsipas in the finals. In AO he was injured and still played. As you always say fondly he is a beast. He just needs to switch to that beast mode and usually he does when it matters most to him. Assuming GS# 25 matters to him a lot, then it will happen sooner or later. I am not worried as long as he is winning and moving to the next round. I am happy there is no 8th round.

Alcarez consistency machine like big 3: loses to Monfils in first round, than loses to van de Zandschulp in second round...He is so lucky that there are no more great players on the tour left but Novak and Sinner who is druged

Djoker knows that he needs only to be at his 60 % to win every match until he makes SF...Anyways, If Alcaraz makes it to final, Djoker would smoke him like in Olympics...
@michael85974 ай бұрын
Well Novak has to improve his first serve percentage dramatically if he has to win his unprecedented 25th slam. First Serve percentage below 50 is appalling. But Novak has won against Alcaraz at Cincinnati when serving even below 50%. So you can't count out his chances even then because he has such a complete game like no other in sport. Nevertheless I hope going forward he will find rhythm on his first serve. Better to find it sooner than later.

@@pauljohnson6019 whats difference when it comes to service when you constantly hit the ball on the net?
@pauljohnson60193 ай бұрын
@@cicadraza3671 On clay it's easier to be more consistent on serve, because it's a slower surface, on hard court, you need to risk more, because the points are faster, and a good returner can put you under pressure, rallies usually are shorter, on clay you might be able to extend the rally, as it's generally more harder to hit outright winners.

Bad serving? How about Senorita Crampitos which you always overhype? He can't even get to the quarterfinals yet you still keep fangerling him as if he is your tennis God, You said he will be destroyed by Alcaritos but Alcaritos was destroyed by a low ranked player. what a joke.

What I don't understand is this just-rolled-out-of-bed Novak. How can someone who's talked endlessly for the last two years about "peaking" at the majors and about "playing [his] best tennis" at the big tournaments not have his serve ready to go by now? His serve should've been loaded for bear by now. His serve should've been sharpened like a broadsword or like a machete by now, should've been razor sharp and ready to slice its way through this tournament from jump. For someone who says he wants to "peak" at the majors, he looks lethargic -- at night, no less -- and rarely even looks happy. If humidity is an issue, bring the family with you to some place humid, like Florida, a month before the tournament, and acclimate to American humidity there. Come on, Djokovic, the competition is only going to get more and more unforgiving. These are the types of tournaments for which you keep saying you want to be at your best physically, mentally, technically, and tactically. I lovingly say this as a fan: Djokovic, go home and get the real Djokovic. We need him to show up ... now.

My intuition tells me that God has decided to bless Novak with GS#25. Heart of heart I was hoping that both Alcaraz and Sinner will exit early so that for a change Novak can get at least one GS with least effort. Looks like the Gods are smiling. Alcaraz down and out. One more to go. Still Zverev and Medvedev are no easy pushovers even for the mighty Novak. I know this is child like wish. But why not let the child have a say ? Who doesn't like getting lucky, naturally without fixing ? I do. Disclaimer : I have nothing against both Alcaraz and Sinner as players. Both are big and have emerged as the big 2 in the emerging big 3 (Rune !). But then, when I look back and revisit Novak's journey I cannot help wishing him something big at this stage in his career. All said and done, may the best man win. Botic Van.... is scary.

@@sanjay-ul8lch Sinner's AO win is commendable. No doubt. How I wish he did not get caught in this drug question mark. I am not sure how he is going to shake it off or overcome, especially if he is innocent as he clearly claims with a straight face. I would be glad if he is innocent. I have nothing against him.
