Actually, there is a fortress in the DS version. Just go to 0:55 and look ahead. Again, in the 3DS version it is also there with an extra wall added to the tower which you drive in.

DS was my first Mario Kart and I distinctly remember this being my favorite track as a child because of the cannon, I thought it was super unique and had never seen it before on a track. Now we might get it in Wave 4 which is just around the corner (a month or two) alongside Singapore Speedway which I consider to be one of the best city tracks, both in HD in MK8, the times are good and hype folks.

Like imagine if the airship is based off the more metallic ones from wonder, and the inside has a reference to the robo bowser arenas. Airship fortress was done dirty in tour. It looks more like something from paper Mario and the evil feel it had is gone. It's more like a log cabin mixed with an evening drive. plus the sped-up final lap music sounds like shit.

Things Tour did right with Airship Fortress - They took the background fortress and made it the main track. It does look awesome. Things Tour did wrong with Airship Fortress - They are way too close to the ground as Lava is almost touching the bottom of the airship. - The lighting of the place is way too bright - The sky box is too orange - The lava particles are annoying and awful - The airship now looks like plastic, seems very cheep, and in general just looks awful. - The textures seem a lot more flat than the 3DS one which shouldn't be possible - The three spinning propellers instead of the giant mast looks awful. - The fences on the front and back of the airship which were iron fences in the DS one are now just wooden poles with rope. (The fact that the 3DS ship without the rails or anything looks better than the one in Tour is sad) - The Tour ship is so polygonal it hurts to look at. Go to 6:14 and look at the rim of the ship and see what i'm talking about.
